Chose iContact
I have personally used MailChimp and Constant Contact. Plus, a back-end WordPress plug-in that I've since forgotten the name of as well as Active.com's email platform.
Chose iContact
iContact was the solution in use when I entered the organization. I have heard very good things about MailChimp and Constant Contact, the other two big names in this field. We have chosen to remain with iContact since then, but would be open to moving. However, it is fulfilling …
Chose iContact
We selected iContact because it was available at the time, and in our price range. I inherited it at the school. If it had been the program it is now back then, I would not have chosen it. At the moment, we are too busy to fully vet another program, so we are stuck with this …
Chose iContact
I haven't used other products for the same features that iContact offers, but I have used products like Mailchimp which sends out massive emails or postcards and such. Personally, I prefer iContact because you're able to personalize it and have the ability to send the emails …
Chose iContact
iContact and Constant Contact are very similar products, however I prefer the iContact interface. Mailchimp may have more features but is harder to train users who are not familiar with email campaigns.
Chose iContact
In my opinion, Mailchimp is the top contender to iContact and really gives them a run for their money. Mailchimp offers users more features, and costs less. Of course, they both have their advantages and disadvantages. Overall, it is a tough decision to make between the two, …
Chose iContact
IContact offered more flexibility, the ability to designate more users in different departments, and better-looking templates. The ability to ask for support and customized templates is also a key, and their account manager is available to respond to issues, offer advice, etc. …
Chose iContact
It offered the best cost to feature ratio and was easy to use. The other systems were great as well, but the potential integration with our CRM (Salesforce), was one of the key deciding factors. Also, icontact was included with the Vocus marketing suite which offered other …

Chose Intuit Mailchimp
I recommend MailChimp because of its solid and growing market share. In some cases, small and medium-sized businesses may find the same solutions within Constant Contact, iContact, or MailChimp. It may be a simple matter of preferences that determine which email marketing …
Chose Intuit Mailchimp
Mailchimp has more robust functionality than iContact. There's a higher price tag, but it's worth it if you need to set up email automation campaigns.
Chose Intuit Mailchimp
Mailchimp is the most cost effective solution. The ease of use, the look of the emails, the options Mailchimp gives you, and the price of it all. There is no reason you should go with iContact or Constant Contact when Mailchimp is an option. They are just too easy to use and …
Chose Intuit Mailchimp

Chose Intuit Mailchimp

I would only recommend it if someone was a small business. I think they are the best suited for companies who will send out a coupon or offer here and there. The most recent updates made it more complicated to use for more complicated processes. It is easy to train someone on the program, and so quick to learn. But I would also only stick to the simpler things. I also think the colorful templates are great, and show great creativity. But again, it is hard to justify recommending the program when it isn't WYSIWYG.

For any E-commerce related needs, like you need to see a list of customers who have added products to cart but did not purchase, this can be done really easily, but if your e-commerce provider provides integration, then it is best suited. Most of the systems in the Market provide out-of-the-box integration. Their API is also very easy it can be integrated to any language. You can integrate it into your custom developed system and use the features, like adding customers to specific lists. Also, if your lists become really big, then their system can get a bit slow to respond via API, so you might need a strategy for how you are gonna fetch the data using API.

For my psychiatric telehealth practice, RXNT is just about perfect! Once the patient paperwork packet was completed, the portal is opened and my encounter templates were up and ready to use - I could spend time actually listening to the patient because my paperwork pulls into the chart and subsequent visits can be duplicated/updated easily. It just takes time to get everything completed and ready for use. I didn't have much down time between switching my EMRs which was a little stressful trying to get patient charts moved and my paperwork built.

Pros
iContact
  • Contact management. iContact is really great for entering all your contact. You are able to put them onto different lists, and let them choose which lists they would like to be a part of as well. There are many data fields provided to fill in information.
  • Emailing. We use the email feature at least once a month. They are always improving and adding new features, which is very helpful in presenting content in a new and exciting way to our readers. There are many options with remade templates and themes, or you can add your own.
  • Insights. It is really helpful being able to have the data to see what is working and what isn't. It is nice to be able to go back and see how things went in the past compared to now. Opens, clicks, shares, etc.

  • Mailchimp allows you to manage your mailing list really well. You can subscribe people, unsubscribe people manage the mailing list directly into segments, and what not.
  • Mailchimp has features where you can create campaigns based on your mailing lists and send out newsletters to your subscribers based on a multitude of parameters that you can setup. Such as send email daily, weekly, monthly and they also have event based mails that you can send out.
  • Mailchimp also has a feature where you can design your emails. The look and aesthetics are very important when sending emails to your subscribers and all those needs are addressed here.

Cons
iContact
  • We also would like to send transactional messages which don't require an opt-out, this is a challenge with iContact. (May be a feature with pro?)
  • The regular version of iContact doesn't support event management or logic flows for automated messaging.
  • Custom form fields have limited field type options (can't build a drop-down).

  • The pricing tiers do scale quickly so if you have a free newsletter it may get expensive

  • Since my last review, there have been significant problems with RXNT. The first being that after the new year, I was unable to send controlled substance prescriptions. The solution turned out to be an obscure and arcane issue that was difficult to resolve
  • Second, RXNT added additional steps for authentication when signing but completely bungled the roll out, informing users with only one pop-up informational box on a Monday morning with no follow up nor any advice on how to manage this change. The result was that my entire organization was unable to access RXNT for several days on Friday after they made the change.
  • Third is RXNT's collective response to the second problem, namely that no one could access the program, meaning we could not view past notes for patients nor prescribe medications. They took almost half a day even to respond to our multiple complaints and requests for help. When they finally responded, their suggestions were completely useless and we remained unable to use the program. Fortunately, our CEO figured out how to access the program over the weekend. However, that meant that many of us had to work over the weekend to complete our notes and prescribe meds. Of note, we did not get a single response from RXNT over the weekend, in spite of multiple emails.
  • Fourth, RXNT offered absolutely no apologies or accountability for their actions. They excused themselves from failing to respond to our emails and requests by noting that they had only 20 IT staff on hand for the roll out of the changes noted above, for which they seemed to have failed to plan for any issues. They made nothing but excuses, blaming us for their poor planning.
  • Fifth, after our CEO chastised them for their entirely unprofessional behavior and lack of caring for their customers, they assigned us a specific individual, whom they claimed would be responsive to us for any further difficulties. Well, we have had a number of further difficulties in logging in to RXNT and prescribing controlled substances, and the individual tasked with taking care of us was no more responsive or accountable than we had experienced before. She did not answer emails in a timely fashion, nor did she offer any useful assistance.
  • Overall, we are very disappointed with RXNT, who have proved to be unprofessional, unaccountable, and incompetent.

We've had Mailchimp for about ten years, I want to say. I started with the company about four years ago, and I don't see us ever diverting to another source. Usability
iContact
I rate iContact as an easy to use program due to its user friendly dashboard and user interface. Most companies of small to medium size do not have a dedicated marketer, therefore it is someone multitasking who may or may not have this kind of experience. iContact makes it relatively simple and can actually expand one's knowledge in the area of business promotion.

The interface is a bit complicated, and I need to spend some time to learn new functions and understanding how it works. Product support is absolutely terrible. We have been having problems with the product since the beginning of the year and their customer support has been growing progressively worse. The most egregious example of this is when they implemented a major change to the authentication process without any planning. When things went wrong, they offered no support. Very disappointed.

I didn't have a say in the decision because I wasn't with the company at the time. I don't think they are comparable; we use Google Ads to put our website at the top of the list when someone googles certain words. We use meta business to manage our social media. Google aims to gain customers, while Mailchimp is used to interact with both existing and new customers.

RXNT offers better quality and more customization for the cost. Valant was very expensive regardless if you wanted a few features or the entire EHR. eClinical Works is easy to duplicate records but then it can take a while to update with current information. And their updated version...you might need a magnifying glass especially if you are using on a laptop. I love the larger font and overall appeal of RXNT much better

Mailchimp over the years I've used it has grown in leaps and bounds. They have added so many additional features than were previously available. They are truly an all-in-one marketing platform now. If you're a small operation and just want to add email to your marketing efforts, they're there for you. If you're a larger operation and want to start sending postcard advertisements, they can do that. If you'd good with that and want to kick up your marketing by going social, you can do that on their platform. They are truly able to be as small as you need, but also get quite large in whatever it is you'd like to do through their system.

  • One of my retail web store clients was sending out email specials and notices about once a month. After clicking the send button, we would watch Google Analytics and the current site users would light up immediately. Often, the current site visitors would pop up to 20, 30 or more after the email was sent. On a normal day, seeing 1 or 2 online users would be OK.
  • Pretty much in all cases, we could see an uptick in positive activity after sending out a Intuit Mailchimp email to a list.
