What TrustRadius Research Says

Avast Business Pricing 2021

Whether commercial or nonprofit, if your business has data, it needs to be secure. Remote companies might use password vaults, and VPNs. Hybrid and in-person companies will need to install antivirus software. Remote companies can pay for their employees' antivirus for uniform security across the board, but it does get very expensive.

Avast Business has protection plans available for small and large businesses. They have a number of different features to protect your data from viruses, ransomware, spyware. Below we go into the features of Avast and what might make them worthwhile for your business.

All About Avast

Avast ‘s antivirus software subscription will come with a dashboard and management console for an admin user to set up and control your security. Avast offers two kinds of servers, Sharepoint and Exchange server protection. Sharepoint is a Windows server designed to scan what you upload and download. Exchange is for more in-depth protection. It will filter email for risks, and protect your communications from spam or malware.

Avast protection has several different types of shields. These shields include their mail shield, file shield, web shield, webcam shield, and behavior shield to protect you during all your internet activities. The software is set up to do an automatic update as soon as one is available. Avast also offers patch management as an add-on service. Patch management fixes or patches are made to correct specific vulnerabilities.

For extra protection you can use Avast’s secure browser (the company offers a free version), and Avast’s data shredder. Deleting files doesn’t truly get rid of them. A data shredder doesn't shred files but actually corrupts the file by overwriting and then getting rid of them. This way if you need to dispose of any sensitive information, you can do so safely.

Overall Avast Binsesses securities are generally what you would look for in antivirus software for your company. You need a firewall, scanning, and something always looking out for you as you navigate the constant bombardment that is online communication. The real question is whether the cost is worth the protection and in the budget for an enterprise of your size.

How Much Do Avast Business Plans Cost?

Avast Business offers 3 business plans, each with protection for different needs. The subscriptions range from 1 to 3 years long. They are limited by the number of devices, with 1 device built into each plan’s cost.

Avast does not offer free trials but they do offer a 30-day money back guarantee if you aren’t satisfied. If you are willing to contact sales, you can request a 30-day free trial so your company can test it commitment free. Avast does have a popular free version for personal protection as well. It’s not the same as business protection but it may help give you an idea of how good the software is in general.

Avast Business Antivirus - $36.99/year

The Avast Business plan offers malware protection and Avast’s Business Hub for $36.99/year. Avast’s malware protection uses their AI, behavior shield for blocking suspicious files, and a cloud lab for analyzing possible cyberthreats. Their Business Hub is a platform for IT departments to manage devices and security for your team. For more information about the Business Hub, they have a detailed pdf. If you want more devices it's the yearly cost per device added.

This plan would be good for small, in-person businesses. Avast Business in general does offer a free remote tool for connecting mobile devices for file sharing, but this plan does not offer server protection. If you wanted to use this plan for remote work, you would need multiple personal devices to share information, rather than accessing a secure server.

Avast Business Antivirus Pro - $46.99/year

Avast Business Antivirus Pro at $46.99/year, comes with everything from the basic plan, but with server protection. The server protection includes Sharepoint Server Protection and Exchange Server Protection. This protection can be a more cost effective option over supplying antivirus protection for all remote computers. This will also benefit hybrid companies that need in-house protection, and secure online access.

Avast Business Antivirus Pro Plus - $56.99/year

The Avast Business Antivirus Pro Plus is $56.99/year, and has the added benefit of privacy protection features and identity protection. These services are meant to protect personal data, passwords, downloads while from work, home, or on public Wi-Fi. Hybrid and in-person companies will prefer the full protection and flexibility that comes with this plan.

Identity, server, and malware protection are assets for modern companies that require constant communication and research over the internet. This plan is suited to a wide array of industries, from advertising to retail and even nonprofits. Those seeking strong protection of company and client data will benefit from this plan.

Avast Alternatives

There are a few great Avast alternatives out there. For some companies, like ones that are entirely remote, considering platforms that store data and messages securely may be more cost effective than buying antivirus software for employees. You can also look into purchasing a VPN for giving your company security while on the go. Avast also offers a VPN service called Avast Secureline VPN.

One popular business antivirus alternative is AVG. AVG Business has all the same protections as Avast, and similar prices. Avast Business' prices overall lower than AVG business’. The decision may comes down to the reviews from users for each service. TrustRadius has a ‘compare with’ feature that allows you to do a side by side comparison of the software you’re considering.

One special note for remote companies shopping for protection, whether or not you decide to purchase protection for each employee, it may be helpful to look at company VPNs. VPNs can provide some security while using the internet, and although you should never replace your actual antivirus with it, it can still be added protection especially for remote workers.
