Matillion ELT for Snowflake
We were up and running with our first Matillion jobs in about a month. As time went on, we continually iterated upon our orchestration and transformation job designs and came up with standard templates to use for new projects. We did not immediately take any professional training courses - the learning of Matillion came on the job through specific use cases.
Matillion was able to help us get up and running with our first ETLs in about a week. They assisted us with more complex integrations as we learned the platform.
I didn't set this up, so I can't say anything about setting Matillion up. Skimming through their documentation, I can see that it's fairly simple. An average SysAdmin would get this tested and running in under two hours (this is quite generous). As for getting started with the transformation process, users can just start designing their ETL right after logging in and selecting projects inside Matillion's environment.
I was up and running with Matillion in less than a week for the initial data sources. I pulled data from using pre-built components.

A good solution for a one man data shop
One can get a production ETL job up and running in hours starting from scratch.
I was not a part of the implementation of Matillion, but given my experience with their support team and using the tool, I couldn't imagine more than 48 hours to get the platform running and proper database credentials to get things moving.

2 Years with Matillion
We were able to get up and running with Matillion within a week. When we spun it up, we started putting together our first jobs, and they were super simple to set up. Though the jobs were on the simpler side, it was pretty easy to get started.

Matillion for Snowflake - Excellent (cloud-only) solution for ELT pipelines and complex transformation needs
Matillion has published a step by step guide on support portal which makes it easy to configure up and running test instances in less than an hour. However, production instance configuration will depend on deployment strategy, familiarity with AWS ecosystem, security requirements and connectivity with on-premise applications.
We used the trial period for a proof of concept. Soon after that, we developed packages and moved them to production.
I was not involved in the initial phase of implementation, but once we had it set up on an ec2 instance, I was able to start creating flows with minimal guidance.

Matillion For All
Well, we worked on Matillion for roughly three months before actually acquiring the product. It was essential to first get training because you tend to miss out certain basic functionalities without a matillion expert guiding you. Also, once we had a little hands-on with the product it wasn't very difficult to get the whole transformation process started.

Excellent ELT product that helps deliver rapid value and clear, easy to maintain transformations
We were able to successfully deploy everything into production in less than 4 weeks. This includes setting up the Matillion (and Snowflake) environments, connecting to on-prem databases, pulling stage data, building the data warehouse transformations in Matillion, and exporting the results into reporting tables. We also had enough time to implement integration straight back to Excel, S3 and full production monitoring with SNS.

Small scale Matillion user
It was up and running in about 3 weeks. From initial conversations to Matillion, to infrastructure setup, to testing, to actually ETL being run.
We were able to setup Matillion in less than 2 hours and had started transformation process within the same day.
Took about 2 months to do the initial setup, and been in maintenance + adding new things for the past year.

Matillion ETL for Amazon Redshift
Very quickly. We did a POC in a couple of weeks and then migrated production ETL to Matillion in about three weeks. Support from Matillion was outstanding during the transition and post implementation period.
