I would definitely speak to other users of the software as well as visiting some companies that use the software. It would be good to be able to see it in action in a real setting as well as talk to the users who deal with the software every day and understand how it really works.

If we had the resources we would switch immediately to a product that offers more functionality and stronger support. We are constantly frustrated when we are blocked when multiple people are using the account. Although we have a license for three - it will block us when the third person logs on.

Hindsight is always genius. If we were to do it over again, we would've asked for more information on how MIP creates a budget and asked for a more thorough demo of that capability.
I don't think anything would've changed though. Our previous solution was showing its age and MIP was a huge step up. I don't know that any of the other products would've have changed our minds. The budget making process while important, in the grand scheme of things, involves roughly 2-3 months of a lot of work (in and out of the system). The advantages that MIP brought to the table for the day-to-day fiscal operations was better than anything else we were seeing.

I was not at this agency when MIP was initially selected and implemented. However, I was involved in the decision to purchase the HR and Employee Web Services modules. We discussed the price, as well as features and usability of the module. Additionally, we discussed how these programs could improve efficiency for staff, reduce paper usage, and meet our needs for timesheet requirements. If we had to do this again, I would not change our decision making process.
