Patriot has been great for our small, but growing organization. It’s extremely easy to add a new employee and make changes to their profile.
We especially appreciate being able to pull up reports and customize the timelines.

It stands to reason that even with 30+ employees, that this will be a viable solution for payroll software.

Their customer service is consistently professional and kind.

Payroll. I haven't tried the Accounting part, but I am planning to.

Patriot Software is great for a small business that needs to process payroll but doesn't have that much of a budget. Ideally, you should have some level of experience on your team to ensure that payroll is processed correctly as you have to figure some things out for yourself like how to get SUTA numbers.

While support is responsive, they just point to support docs that should be more detailed to begin with.

I think Patriot works best for companies that need cost-effective, self-managed, and fairly vanilla payroll needs. There are solution providers out there that have more full-featured offerings and higher prices, but this has met my needs as I was the only employee, then it still works as I have grown to five 1099 and two employees, but in time I may outgrow it.

In 3 years I have needed support maybe 3 times and it has been unusual situations that I felt was appropriate to reach out for help and they were ready with answers.

Patriot is an overall simple system to use. It is great for storing profiles and sorting donations. There are many helpful searching options to narrow the search (state, city, email) which is extremely useful if you have multiple people in your system with the same name.

Our company uses an outside person for our tech support. He is able to fix our issues quickly. We have not directly contacted Patriot for software support.

If you have a diversity of clients where payrolls are similar period over period. Patriot Payroll is absolutely outstanding in being able to take over the filings and payroll. If the initial setup is done correctly. If you are having to consistently change things with employees that are not salaried things can become difficult four day direct deposit. However, they are getting better about shortening it to two day.

Generally speaking it is pretty good that when I need to call somebody up for a payroll question I can generally within five minutes get somebody on the phone and they can help me resolve the problem or specify where specifically I need to go or contact to find my answers. However, that being said, for my specific situation as a partner my assigned contact has not always been very responsive.

Patriot Software is amazing for small businesses like mine because it takes the stress of processing payroll away.

Chat box is available on the bottom and I can get help whenever I need it. Customer service is always polite and helpful.

Patriot takes care of the minutia involved with payroll and taxes.

Patriot Software is very easy to set up, and their team will walk you through the transition from another payroll provider. If you don't want to have to directly intervene to make sure your taxes are paid and forms filed in a timely manner each month, they are a great answer. Their interface and communication is wonderful. I give it my highest recommendation. We have been totally satisfied and happy with their service.

In my view, Patriot is a perfect solution for businesses with 50 or fewer employees. I can imagine things get very complicated with more than 50 employees and I just can't attest to how well it would work for that size of a business.

It's brilliant (and the best I've found) for single member LLCs or businesses with under 10 employees.

Patriot software helps me, as sole employee, simplify payroll each month. Its easy-to-use interface helps me process payroll quickly. I am able to track periodic tax filings and save them for my records directly from their site.

Patriot Software works best for practices looking to start offering payroll to small clients. You can upgrade to have your payroll taxes filed for an additional monthly charge, however, reporting makes it pretty simple to file on your own.

This is the cheapest, most user-friendly tool for very small businesses, think less than 10 employees, or even smaller honestly. It is not going to help you schedule hourly employees or easily track PTO, holiday pay, etc. But it is excellent for one-person S corps as it is very easy to adjust salary any time you need to! In the two years that I have used it, I feel it has continued to improve in function and customer support.

Frankly, I can't think of any small/mid sized business scenario where Patriot would not be an outstanding choice.

I think it would be awesome for multiple employees but it still suits me. I have no idea what I am doing when it comes to taxes and government entities nor do I want to learn about it. It allows me to be a lawyer and focus on my cases. I will continue using it indefinitely but I wish it was like $20/month.

It worked like magic for me. I only have a few employees, so I can't speak to the ability to manage payroll for larger companies.

Patriot PAY is well suited for any business that has payroll needs. As I run a small business (1 employee), I know that it is very well suited for me and my needs. I do not know how it may be suited for a larger business with many employees (their new price structure includes a per employee per month fee in addition to the monthly cost) but for a small business such as mine it is very economical and a great software. I am very happy with their service.

Patriot PAY is perfect for the small business that does not want to hire or pay for expensive payroll services. This is exactly why we use the software and it works very well for all of our payroll needs.

Patriot PAY is well-suited to a company that has a 10-day window between the end of the pay period and the payday. The company size makes very little difference and it is easy to use for any company. It is also very progressive in development and improvement. If a company has a small window for turn-around, but fairly consistent payroll amounts (such as a lot of salary workers), Patriot PAY might also be a good fit for them. Companies with tight turn-around times or payrolls that vary significantly in direct deposit amounts might have difficulty using Patriot PAY.

Patriot is well suited for an office with a small staff without complicated tax issues to manage. My office had 2 employees: one full-time and one part-time. There were no 1099's issued, and no special tax exemptions or other special tax situations for employees. The owner was a sole proprietor, so she was not paid as an employee through Patriot. It was easy to quickly run simple payroll tasks on a bi-weekly basis in my situation.

However, I believe a more complex situation with more employees would still be suitable for this software if there was an employee dedicated to performing payroll and human resources tasks. Information must be manually entered each payroll period and submitted before 8pm to process at the scheduled pay date, so if there was not a dedicated employee for the task, it would be easy to end up paying employees a business-day late.

I know that Patriot offers add-on services for human resource tasks, such as time sheets and tools to manage sick days, benefits, and record employee attendance. I did not require these extra services, but I like that Patriot offers services a la carte so that there is no need to pay for tools you do not need.
