Overall Satisfaction with Apricot by Social Solutions
Apricot is used for data collection, organization, storage and reporting. I customize it for our program. Apricot allows us to enter and update student information on one website. We use Apricot to track student progress for the duration of their time in our program. This data will inform our work during the year and help us assess the program’s impact on student success in college. Our peer mentors at four college campuses use the program to collect data. Their supervisors and other program staff review the data in reports.
- Apricot allows us to spin up reports immediately, to quickly test out theories or questions about the data.
- Apricot is customizable, so feedback can be incorporated by on-site staff very quickly.
- It is available on any web browser on any device. This ensures access for our many different users.
- Apricot isn't always nimble. There are times when it is not working correctly or there is a potential enhancement that would improve it, but it will take a long time for Apricot to implement it.
- The account managers have turned over many times. They and finance department staff are often not responsive.
- There are no mobile apps and no timeline for these. These would be very helpful for our users.
- As a non-profit, ROI isn't a concern. We do like to make the work for our users efficient. Customization allows for that.
- The lack of an app does make our users' work take a bit longer.
Reports on our data in Apricot allow the program to identify issues with data entry and student progress towards program goals. We will review data entered into Apricot using the filters on the search page or reports to identify inconsistent data that does not follow the training users received.
Apricot has indirectly helped us report back to funders on our program's impact. We use Apricot to collect data on the time students spend with our program receiving support. That alone allows us to focus on which students engaged with the program. We then analyze their success using other data sources outside of Apricot.
Apricot does not have as many varied levels of support available to its customers as PowerSchool. Apricot is much more customizable than PowerSchool. This is invaluable as our program changes constantly.
