Overall Satisfaction with Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT

I use Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT for accounts payable processing and vendor management as well as bank reconciliations and reporting. I also use it for journal entries and analyzing the general ledger. We use expense management to effectively capture all expenses for multiple grants that. Additionally, we use the excel add ins to help us import large journal entries into the general ledger.

  • Easy connection to bank accounts for accurate balances
  • Expand vendors for credit card management
  • Update approval process for payables so that administrators can see them even when they are not approved.
  • See all invoices in the recent invoice section and not just the ones processed by a particular user.

  • It has made A/P a better faster process
  • It has made compiling the financial statement more efficient
  • The training videos are very detailed and helpful in the training process
They are very different systems but they are both very comprehensive. Like ADP, Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT has a good vendor management system where lots of information can be entered and uploaded. There is accurate space for uploading documents and it is an easy process. Both products try to do their maintenance when customers would not primarily be using them which helps with productivity. However there have been times where both have been down during the day slowing productivity.

The online version of Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT is very user friendly. It processes much faster than the database and streamlines the Accounts payable process which makes processing faster. I also find the bank registers easier to read, find transactions, and void payments. The absence of the accounts receivable module does cause some trouble because we have to use both the database and online version.
