Overall Satisfaction with Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT

I have been an FE user for 16 years, the last 4 years with FE NXT. FE NXT has facilitated some reports, some screens are more friendly, but curious enough, there are things we have to do in database because they can't be done in NXT, like AP posting periods for example. Half of our users prefer to work in NXT, half prefer database.

  • Finding journal entries by partial name
  • Finding account numbers by partial number or description
  • Attachments to JE and AP
  • AP posting by period
  • Journal Entry edit (ROWS)
  • Security set up sometimes is difficult in NXT
  • Document attachment to AP and JE capability is a game changer for our record-keeping and auditing purposes
  • Credit card automated upload is very helpful (just wished it didn't missed any)
  • Wish queries were available in FE NXT
Posting from Raiser's Edge to Financial Edge NXT has allowed a clean path to reflect donations, which results in good internal control. FE NXT has tools that allow internal controls, setting them up correctly is key to a system that can be trusted and relied upon. Customizable reporting is very helpful in our organization because we like to track some donation funds.

FE NXT allows users to easily find journal entries by partially typing the title, to easily find account numbers by partially typing the account number or account name; reports are customer friendly and offer new and better options than database. Wish queries could be created in FE NXT, we can use queries for report filters, but we can't create new queries in database. AP posting filters in FE NXT can't be customized as in database. We have encountered glitches in the credit card automated uploading, we have missed some transactions..
