Overall Satisfaction with BlueJeans
I use BlueJeans in education (distance learning), administration (executive conferences and interviews) and clinical applications (connecting physicians with rural patients that do not have access to transportation or will not follow-up for their continuity of care due to long distances to our urban medical center). As you can see, this is a broad spectrum of use.
During COVID we have been using it for patient telehealth visits as well as provider consultations, administrative meetings, interviews with prospective students/residents/fellows and other provider recruitment, medical student courses, community outreach and other teaching programs within our organization and outside facilities.
- Ease of use for new users.
- Lectures within and outside our organization with the ability to share content from a computer device for education, collaboration, and information.
- Excellent video quality.
- Student teaching allows breakout sessions for smaller groups to discuss course learning examples.
- Administrative meetings allows us to communicate during this time of social distancing.
- Community outreach to underserved populations provide access to healthcare providers and social services.
- Patient care using it as a telehealth platform.
- I've been using BlueJeans for so many years the features are very easy to use. I'm glad to see the addition of breakout sessions and the background options. Could increase the number of breakout rooms.
- Could improve user functionality with a green screen function.
- Provided us the ability to transition QUICKLY from a minimal TeleHealth program to expand over our entire health care system. Without conversion during the pandemic, we would have lost valuable time (and resources) by providing access to healthcare for our current patients.
- Cost savings due to utilizing video conferencing as opposed to having executives travel to our facility. Some regional, some national, and others in international locations.
- Virtual interviews of all prospective medical students, residents and fellows have been mandated by each prospective national governing agency. We had started this on a smaller scale before the pandemic and found it easily converted to use on a wider scale. We will be interviewing close to 1,000 prospective candidates. This is saving us time in scheduling, travel expenses for the candidates, on-site expenses we would incur with in-person interviews and time spent with each candidate if they were on-site.
- Access to healthcare for patients in medically underserved areas that otherwise would have been neglected.
- Zoom
Most of our users have found BlueJeans to be a better user friendly product. This may be because of familiarity with BlueJeans as we have used it for a number of years longer. Zoom has name recognition that some new staff find appealing. BlueJeans could use more advertising to improve that area. MS Teams is not user friendly and doesn't always work well on older devices.
