Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Duo

We used Cisco Secure Access by Duo as our method for MFA (multi-factor authentication) for multiple applications (remote desktop, Cisco VPN, OneLogin, Darktrace, etc.).
  • Active directory sync
  • Ease of use for users and admins
  • Integration with other applications
  • Support other vendor hardware security tokens
  • More price competitive
  • Ease of integration with other vendor applications
  • Is not compatible with other hardware
Yes, we have secured third-party applications that are supported by Cisco Secure Access by Duo, both on-prem and cloud-based.
We use Microsoft O365, and it looks like I can leverage my existing license to save money by moving away from Cisco Secure Access by Duo. I am still in the research phase, so we might or might not stay with Cisco Secure Access by Duo.

Do you think Cisco Duo delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Cisco Duo's feature set?

Yes

Did Cisco Duo live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Cisco Duo go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Cisco Duo again?

Yes

You will need to use a Cisco Secure Access by Duo hardware token since it doesn't support 3rd party. As for pricing, some vendors like Microsoft have their own, so it might come with the license you already own. If you want easy management and use, this solution is straightforward.

Resilience and Reliability

Resilience is very important since your business depends on the service being up and if it is down, the issue is resolved asap. One of the main reason to using Cisco Duo is their reputation for reliability and the support they put behind their product.
By doing their due diligence in choosing a vendor that have shown and proven their worth in the cyber security arena. Always look at new technology and company annually and never be satisfied with what you already have since it is constantly changing.
Even though we are satisfied with Duo, there are more players in this space so other factors come into play like cost and new technologies.
Implementation was straight forward and you can isolate different scenarios in order to test new application setup or add to an existing setup. Gui interface is pretty easy to understand and follow. I had no experience with Duo and still manage to easily set up new policies and rules.
Even though I get notification of outages, it has not affected our mfa implementation once. I do notice that the outages are resolved quickly even though it does not affect my company.
Very easy. Gui was easy to navigate and I created new policy and rule without issue without having any previous experience with Duo.
  • mfa for sso
  • mfa for vpn

Using Cisco Duo

150 - Everyone within our organization use Cisco Duo for MFA with VPN, identity provider like Onelogin, RDP, and Microsoft windows authentication.
4 - An administrator who understands how to integrate Cisco Duo with other applications. This include Cisco VPN, Onelogin identity provider, Active Directory integration for syncing users to Duo and authentication for RDP and desktop integration.
  • MFA with Onelogin Identity Provider
  • MFA for windows authentication for servers and workstations
  • MFA for Cisco vpn
  • MFA for Redhat servers

Cisco Duo Support

Support is fast and very helpful. I am able to resolve or get my questions answered quickly.
Initially, the previous admin set this up for us to manually create each user, but when I found out you can sync active directory, support answered by questions about how existing users are affected that I was able to easily enabled this, so we no longer have to manually create users and groups.

Using Cisco Duo

Active Directory synchronization for users and groups, the admin console is very nice, and the integration setup is pretty straightforward once you understand it.
