Overall Satisfaction with IBM B2B Cloud Services
IBM B2B Cloud Services is being used initially by my department as a proof of concept. We are using it to integrate our department's B2B processes into one central gateway. This will allow us to be able to better manage, monitor and maintain those processes to ensure we are getting the most out of our B2B integrations with various companies.
Pros
- Provides a single gateway for all our increasingly complex B2B processes with our business partners.
- Ensure we are adhering to the latest standards.
- We like that we no longer have to manage our own servers and infrastructure. All that is taken care of in this Cloud-based architecture.
Cons
- The learning curve is steep on this product. My group had to do a lot of training to feel like we were up to speed on the product.
- I would definitely recommend some in-house training for employees about to use this product. This will help employees get the most out of the product for a better ROI.
- The user interface could use a refresh. Seems to be a bit stale compared to a few other products we looked at.
- We feel that IBM B2B Cloud Services will drive down our maintenance costs because my group is no longer responsible for patching and maintaining infrastructure.
- High availability of IBM B2B Cloud Services will allow us to have a greater up time with less downtime.
- Having a single platform where all B2B integrations are shown and presented in a single interface will allow us to quickly and effectively manage those integrations and see which ones are really needed. A single view will provide instant visibility into any sort of problems that may arise as well.
We went with IBM B2B Cloud Services because we felt that IBM has a very long track record of delivering enterprise-ready solutions to their customers. IBM professional services came in and clearly explained how they would help us integrate our current business process into the IBM B2B Cloud Services product. This gave us the confidence and trust to go with IBM over a lesser-known competitor.
