Overall Satisfaction with Infinio
We use Infinio on our VMware clusters to accelerate the read IO from our different workloads across our data center environments. We have had traditional spinning disk storage for the majority of time I have worked here, and Infinio has functioned as a great gap fill while we modernize into solid state storage at a gradual pace.
- Citrix system boot time and application opening much faster
- SQL database efficiency
- The interface needs a way to allow for RBAC so everyone is not an admin.
- Alerts should be configurable whenever a VM or host is not functioning correctly.
- Positive impact has been delaying large storage refresh purchases.
- Positive impact has been improving read latency without having to add infrastructure.
Infinio has no real market competition. There was a tool called Pernix FVP that did both read/write acceleration that I evaluated that became end-of-life while it was in POC. It was more complicated to deploy and remove than Infinio and required downtime for each host. Also, the fact that it was no longer supported made the decision to choose Infinio easy.
