Overall Satisfaction with Planview Projectplace
We have been using Projectplace in our operations department for more than 5 years. We make use of the Kanban boards and the document management system on a regular basis. It is a great improvement for executing our projects in a real state of the art collaboration style.
- Project Plan provides a very good overview of milestones, timelines and activities with linked to-dos (KanBan Boards).
- Document manager is an easy to use document management tool with versions and reviews to make sure everybody has the same document versions at any time.
- The members tool gives a good overview about "who is who" in our projects. Just perfect. No more Excel contact sheets to be kept updated.
- Members: Would be great to have groups and persons in separated menus. It is mixed up at the moment which makes it sometimes hard to overview and/or sort the content.
- Plan/Boards: Activities which have been marked as completed are not visible in the boards any longer. That means no one is able to keep him/herself updated about history. We strongly recommend stepping back to the previous version of boards.
- Project documentation or "end of project" is hard to execute. There is a need to generate and download a bunch of different files. Would be great to have a "one click" project documentation with all conversations, boards, members, status etc.
- Plan: We need to link main activities wth a board/cards, even if there are some sub-activities.
- Meeting tool with the "doodle like" feature is great but somewhat hidden and the GUI is somewhat outdated.
- Saves a lot of individual time as there is much less email traffic.
- Reduces costs in our own IT department.
- Expensive.
- Dropbox for Business and Alfresco Enterprise Content Management
We selected projectplace because it best fits our modern project environment. It is easy to use, OS free, and all modules are combined into one system. No need for multiple applications any longer.
