Overall Satisfaction with Zoom Events

We use Zoom [Events] for a variety of types of meetings. We recently have used it for webinars throughout the agency for updates to policies, to changes in procedures, and for training purposes too. We also have used it for educational purposes as it allows us access to camera use and we are able to chat in groups.

Pros

  • Has camera access
  • We can choose our name displayed
  • It is user-friendly

Cons

  • Making a change on the name we have displayed can be easier
  • Would like more hidden option tabs
  • More participants on the free version
  • Allowing so many users in one conference
  • Camera access as well as audio only
  • Calendar scheduling and sending invites
  • Saves travel time to different locations by bringing everyone to the conference via Zoom.
  • It has saved money on training by allowing us to meet with so many users.
  • It can be used for free (with limits to number of users).
I have also used Video connect for doctors' appointments and although it has its pros as well, the Zoom seems much more user-friendly. I am not too familiar with whether or not the platform allows for as many users to all be part of the same conference or what kind of costs it comes with.

It came in super handy when COVID first hit and we were in somewhat of a lockdown. That was when we really started using it both for work and at home for personal use, than actually for appointments as well. It's great that it allows so many users into one conference. It is a bit less appropriate when there are others present and you get the background noise, or your dog jumps on your lap for all to see.
