Beekeeper

I highly recommend Beekeeper; it has given an incredible strength in each of the task management processes; you can get a great benefit to develop multiple activities in a given time. It is an excellent and convenient resource that allows teams to synchronize, improve information flow, and collaborate effectively.

Planview Projectplace

Planview Projectplace is well suited for large, remote teams that require large amounts of collaboration. That collaboration could be meetings, shared tasks, documents etc. However, [I feel] other tools have better integration with our software suite, tools such as Jira have been easier to implement alongside Google suite applications and other 3rd party reporting tools.

Pros

Beekeeper

  • Beekeeper is ultimately the most viable option for managing tasks and getting a solid result from projects.
  • It has very extraordinary support; I can solve configuration issues.
  • It gives us significant advantages in communication and collaboration within the organization.
  • It is extraordinary to complement a system of coordination and systematization of priorities in any environment.

Planview Projectplace

  • As a cloud based solution, Projectplace is one of the few true multiple location, multi person project management tools available for large teams. The reliability for large projects (with teams of anywhere between 50-200+ people) was a huge selling point for this and I witnessed this first hand.
  • The Windows and Mac applications for Projectplace are well designed and work impressively well for a project management tool. I found most of the teams had either application installed on their machine and did not have any complaints about it.
  • Features like AI and project management viewing styles like Kanban, Ganntt and others make the experience customizable for each user and made them adapt it to their preferred project management style.

Cons

Beekeeper

  • The most dangerous thing for me is the price; I think you can get similar quality programs at a reasonable price.
  • The user interface is not bad, but it could be more intuitive and organized.

Planview Projectplace

  • The software has multiple advantages but there are certain areas where the software should be improved so that users get the most out of it. For instance, the poor internet connection can disrupt the overall functionality of the software which hinders and impedes its usage.
  • Other than this, Planview Projectplace is a little at the pricey side so it can get expensive for the users.

We probably will renew our plan with Planview. When we first started, it was a little bit of a struggle because we had to train up the new hires on how to use this software. But after some time, everyone got the hang of it and really sees when it is such a great program.

It has become pretty intuitive, but there are still some bugs and complicated procedures to do to get done what you intended and you have just no clue why and how. Some things should be played through by UX designers together with customers to see how things work out if you are using full potential.

Here and there we run into little errors, but overall everything works pretty smooth. When a project does have lot of data in it, it will lag and take a little longer to load, but I don't see these as issues. It can mean my computer is slow or even my internet is slow.

Similar to my earlier response, overall it does load quickly. When our project does have a lot of files in it, it does take a little longer to load. When running reports, they get finished in a timely manner. It does depend how much information that the report does have. But it is pretty fast overall.

N/A - I haven't used any of the support features. I haven't been in touch with our CSM, though I don't believe that they have reached out to us to discuss upcoming or new features since we have purchased the tool. The only time we talk to Projectplace is during our renewal phase.

I don't have any key insights on the implementation of Planview Projectplace, but we were very satisfied with how the software was implemented in our organization. We were able to hit the ball rolling. It took some time to setup, but once we were all setup, everything worked very smoothly.

Alternatives Considered

Beekeeper

Beekeeper has been able to bring us considerable advantages in terms of communication and collaboration within our organization. It is a fantastic tool that allows us to communicate with colleagues.

Planview Projectplace

All of the above are decent and I'd say Planview Project Place competes decently in the enterprise market. The extensive trial period made it enticing and the promised closed environment made it more viable. In hindsight, it really depends on who you are and what your use case is. ClickUp and monday.com caters quite extensively to the enterprise and smaller teams or businesses as well

We haven't scaled this to a larger level yet, as this is still in one of our organizations. We do see the potential where it can be scaled to a larger scale, but we taking it one step at a time. This is the reason why I rate it a 9, we know the big potential but have not done it yet.

Return on Investment

Beekeeper

  • I love being able to count on Beekeeper; it has all the communication capabilities so practical and easy to integrate with other tools.
  • The ROI is swift and complete.
Maria Pulenta | TrustRadius Reviewer

Planview Projectplace

  • No one has the functionality of an operating system, such as Skype for Business or GoToMeeting which is very important.
  • Excel's export policy is very ugly and often contains more information than necessary.
  • I can't think of any points worth mentioning for improvement.
