We currently use Connect for the granular batch matching capabilities that other solutions cannot support. This is primarily useful for companies such as ours whose growth strategy is largely M&A focused. For us, the ability to quickly determine the corporate identity of the acquired companies' customers in order to differentiate between existing and net-new customers is invaluable during both the due diligence period as well as post-acquisition integration.

Already given well suited scenarios. Less well suited would be in situations with incomplete or lower quality starting criteria and multiple candidates would need to be evaluated to determine the "correct" match rather than the one D&B chooses to be the best out of a bad lot.

We currently use the DNB connect platform to provide insight and attributes on the manufacturers that we come in contact with on a regular basis. We use this information to supplement the data we provide to our clients to better assist in their purchasing needs. This also allows us to ensure we are targeting the correct type of manufacturer.

DNB is great if you want to link manufacturers together in a family tree or highlight special attributes such as diversity or risk factors. The area where I have issues with using it is my company does not currently store manufacturer addresses or some other identifying attributes, so our match rates are not very high and we do not always get the correct manufacturer returned to us.

It is well suited if you need company details. D&B Connect is used to get the company address, company employee strength, the domain of the organization, and its size. These parameters are necessary for us to take some of the decision-making questions. D&B Connect is a market leader in this regard and quite resourceful and useful for this activity. It's not well suited if you are looking to get contact information for the company or any of its branches.

I use DBC to research companies, understand principals, understand what the internal networks might be, and use it as a base start for potential contact information.

We Used D&B mainly for sales intelligence, we used this tool to find people who had the intention of taking services similar to what we offer. We used the tool to search people mainly in the US and India. The main problem is the reach the right people at the right time, D&B helps in identifying them, this narrows down the number of people we need to approach to make our pitch. I guess they use cookies to identify the people from companies who search the net for particular services and thus letting us know the intent to buy.

  • It has a large pool of contacts within the company, so helps to reach out to the right person via several connections.

It is best suited when you don't want to just spray and pray kind of a scenario, this helps in targeting just the right people for making a sale. You can search people based on industry, function, level of seniority, geography, designation, etc. Mostly there are no scenarios where it is not appropriate in particular, if you don't want buyer intent data then in that case it is expensive and you can look for other options.

  • The product is expensive but the data provided is good to an extent and a big sale can help achieve your ROI.
  • The data accuracy sometimes can be bad leading to bad domain reputation.
Slintel has better accuracy of data and somehow I feel their accuracy in terms of detecting the buyer intent is also better, you can also try Infotelligent.
We create reports that give us information about buyer intent across geographies. At least I used it for that purpose only, I did not use any other reports feature. It gives reports if there are any updates in the database and talks about new people who meet your search criteria. The data given is good though and a consistent marketing effort can reap benefits.
