MindManager helped me manage multiple projects and to be able to collaborate with others to explain what the project is about and what the goals are. Furthermore, it facilitated the construction of projects by having a visual easy to understand. MindManager has a lot of webinars on its website so you are not left alone to discover how it does work and what you can do with it.
  • Project management
  • Time planner
  • Horizontal management
The software MindManager is well suited for project management or mind mapping. It allows to visually see the connections and understand what is missing. The brainstorming is not easy to navigate first, but with some training it becomes something powerful. Collecting some specific direct data from another MindManager map is sadly not implanted or I haven't found a way around it.

I tool to bring the best of you.

Organizing ideas and projects effectively is a powerful strategy for uncovering connections and acquiring fresh insights. It's rewarding to see how this process aids in problem-solving and reveals new facets of the tasks at hand. For instance, describing a process becomes a truly useful tool that enables us to discuss it effectively.
  • Understand a problem with details.
  • Present an idea and how it solved a situations.
  • Organice how to work or deal with a duty.
It is suitable for both individual and collaborative work. Personally, expanding or reorganizing ideas allows me to develop relationships of concepts, processes, or perspectives in a variety of ways. It allows ideas to flow and connect in creative and powerful ways. When you are looking to understand a problem or situation in depth, it is very good for that.

It helps me with client interactions by creating visuals for account needs, asset movements, and different plans. It's extremely useful for clients who learn in a more visual way instead of using lists. It's also used to lay out processes for ease of reference and for internal processes for the team and business.
  • Calculation consistency.
  • Ease of Use.
  • Visuals
It's very helpful when used in client interactions, specifically keeping track of our processes and progress in client asset movements, account openings, financial planning, etc. I like it better than using lists because the visuals are easier to understand and show the roadmap of how everything is linked and tied together. They are much more useful for viewing the full picture and how everything works together.

Mainly used as a way to organise "brain dumps", discussions, brainstorms, and just good place to collect and organise ideas. They are created during initial project kick offs.
  • Collect and link ideas/subjects together
  • Easy and intuitive startup to create "brain dumps"
Getting ideas down quick and organised is pretty easy and you don't need to trained on MindManager to be able to do this. It's a good, clear way of laying out such information where different aspects can be broken down and linked together. Those discussions that grow arms and legs are easily manageable with this software which can be incredibly difficult to follow during conversations.

My lifelong holistic companion for structured knowledge management.

We use MindManager to create overview of vast amounts of info in order to make decissions and derive next steps and actions.

Often used to organize notes during meetings or assessments. The flexibility to radially organize and add layers of info such as dates, actions and priorities and colors helps to structure.

A must have tool to organize complex and vast amounts of information
  • Meeting management and action lists
  • Structured note taking during assessments
  • Course development
To organize information radially as opposed to linearly. Get more insights and actions out of meetings. Visualize info to remember, process and better decision making. Make beter visual presentations. Prepare better for presentation or courses. Organize thought. Stakeholder management. Organize contacts and prepare strategies as a custom visual customer relationship management tool.

I almost always use mind mapping at the beginning of a work result, be it an important document, a workshop or an idea. I particularly like to use it when creating documents (Export from MindManager!) to combine topics into headings. But I also use the tool a lot for outlining procedures (whether processes or software).
  • The GUI has a good and smooth look'n'feel
  • The Export features are amazing
  • The Designs for the maps are nice
  • Very reliable (no crashes)
  • Fast, even with huge maps
I love this tool for creating documents like requirements specifications. While talking to several people, I simply "chop" everything into a mind map. The next step is to group the topics and then export them to a new Word document. I do the rest in the word processor. The tool masters simple standard diagram types, such as structure plans and network diagrams. Unfortunately, the tool is not very good when it comes to special (often technical) diagram types where the format is predefined: flow charts, state charts, FMEAs, lessons learned, communication flows, etc. I know that these are not typical mind mapping tools, but I use mind mapping to create these documents, too.

Twenty years ago, an instructor impressed his class by using MindManager. I was fortunate to be there. Today, mind mapping is one of my superpowers. It is my favorite tool to learn by organizing notes, to go deeper and explore an idea, to create and present strategic plans, and to visually manage an innovation project. MindManager also captivates my audience when I use it to prepare and present a conference, class, or seminar. A well-designed mind map allows me to present complex concepts in a different and straightforward way. It is possible to insert icons, pictures, and URL links, among other elements. Ten years ago, I shared mind maps with my audience in multi-page PDF files; it was an ordeal to prepare them. Nowadays, it is much easier to share them as HTML files that my audience can interact with using a Web browser. I look forward to using MindManager for many years to come.
  • Allows you to learn by organizing notes.
  • Enables you to create and present strategic plans.
  • Empowers you to present complex concepts in a different and straightforward way.
  • Captivates your audience if you prepare and present a conference, a class, or a seminar in MindManager.
MindManager is great to learn by organizing notes, to go deeper and explore an idea, to create and present strategic plans, and to visually manage an innovation project. It also captivates my audience when I use it to prepare and present a conference, class, or seminar. However, I would not use it again as a text editor, Web page designer, or PowerPoint slide planner.

I use MindManager to create illustrations and figures that depict key relationships between concepts and show steps in complex projects.
  • Flexible designs
  • Ease to export
  • Options so show expanded or collapsed view of maps
MindManager is an excellent tool for educators and writers. You can easily show and explain complex inter-related points. I love the way you can export maps into different formats. The interface with MS Office tools is practical as well.

Without MindManager, I would not function.

I use MindManager for everything. It's the most important software I have, and that includes MS 365, Google, etc. Of course, it's brilliant at mind mapping, but I also use it for project management and information management. The computational fields and hyperlinks are critical capabilities that unlock huge power.
  • The computational field is used to plan budget and actual time, and the built-in task management functionality makes it a very powerful project management system. I also use the filter to produce GTD dashboards.
  • Note-taking and links enable detailed records of meetings and links to emails and documents.
  • Templates are good, but map parts are very powerful to enable complex maps to be built very easily.
Project management, information management, and idea generation.

I am a solutions architect, and I use MindManager to develop my ideas and architectural flows. The tool provides me with the basic shapes to create my diagrams. The feature that I appreciate most is the auto layout, which helps me align all the shapes visually.
  • Drag and Drop.
  • Connectors tools.
  • Alignment tools.
  • Canvas assist.
The tool is best suited for product managers, business analysts, and architects to convert their ideas into visual representations. It helps in rapidly building prototypes, and to some extent, I think we can all use this as a UI prototype tool, although it needs some enhancements to do a good job there.

We use MindManager to create visualizations and flowcharts across the customers, partners, and competitors for our partner companies. They help us show the links across different stakeholders and provide a more consumable view than other programs (e.g., PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Helps demonstrate the links across disparate ideas/themes.
  • Supports cross-team collaboration and editing.
  • User-friendly.
MindManager makes sense when you want to visualize the connections between ideas. It is less appropriate for quicker mock-ups or one-offs. It's best to keep a running file/files with the format.

I have been using MindManager for years to plan my projects and perform critical thinking. It helps me organize my thoughts and brainstorm ideas. Keeping things organized is important when deciding on the viability of initiatives and new projects. I have been using mind maps for years now, as viewing projects from a visual standpoint has been proven to be more effective than a bulleted list per se.
  • Increases productivity.
  • Simplification of ideas.
  • Great when using for presentations.
  • Solves problems.
  • Enhances learning.
MindManager is fantastic at laying out ideas and outlining projects. It helps increase productivity, as I can get my thoughts out of my head and onto paper. It's great for project management, org charts, and slide decks. I don't have a comment as to how it is less inappropriate. Overall feedback is positive, as you have to have realistic expectations as to how it can and should be used. It is a very effective tool for a multitude of things.

In our organization, we have multiple challenges in our daily business that are very challenging to juggle with, especially for new people.
We effectively leverage MindManager to visually map out complex relationships between situations, issues, and potential solutions. This tool is invaluable for decision-making and resource allocation. By creating comprehensive mind maps, we can easily identify dependencies, prioritize tasks, and allocate resources efficiently.
  • Very rapidly build new structure
  • Links work very well
  • Make it super simple to visualize relations between items
  • replace drop downs with overall viewpoint
  • easy to modify the links and relationships
We currently use a huge quantity of programs, online ressources, and websites for our daily work.
I built a centralized page to regroup them all. I call that page my starlink.
it is a powerful tool to enable my whole team to know where to find things and work more efficiently.
I configured it on my home page and it is easily accessible.

I adopted MindManager back in 2022, firstly using it within our Product department to support visualising the backlog and also workshopping ideas. Subsequently, we have used MindManager to support other departments visualise and communicate key concepts and processes more effectively. We most commonly use the Concept Map functionality, however personally I also use the Mindmapping for idea exploration and self-organisation. The new whiteboard feature has also been valuable in recent workshops.
  • Visualise complex environments/concepts/processes
  • Support effective communication
MindManager is great for visualising and communicating concepts to groups with varying knowledge of the subject matter.
We are only scratching the surface of its potential, however find it very useful nevertheless!

Personal information management, projects, meetings, tasks and planning. Mostly use MindManager as a tool for organizing and getting an overview of information. Also use it as a presentation tool, and as a springboard for articles in Word and PowerPoint presentations. Great for creating Standard Operating Procedures for the company I'm working at.
  • Personal Information Management
  • Brainstorming articles and presentations
  • Meeting notes and tasks
  • Sharing of information
MindManager is especially well suited for handling lots of textual information. The visual format makes it easy to get an overview, navigate the information, and spot areas of interest that need your attention. MindManager is also an excellent (visual) planning and brainstorming tool, making it easy to insert and update tasks, resources and files related to the project.

I use MindManager for the case management of my customers as well as for a valuable tool in my strategy planning for my business. MindManager allows me to clarify the path for each of my customer’s journey and keep track of the documents needed for their case and tasks completed. When using it for my business, MindManager is my go to for goal-setting, project planning and brainstorming ideas.
  • Project planing
  • Mind mapping
  • Project execution monitoring
  • Reading summaries
  • Organizing thoughts and ideas
Although not meant for actual project planning, MindManager is more appropriate for planning project outside engineering than MS Project as we don’t always want to link activities between each other or plan in extreme detail. In a brainstorming session or project proposal setting, MindManager has all the functionalities needed to collaborate as well as to capture multiple ideas.

August 28, 2024
We use MindManager in our teams in software development, sales, support, etc. The focus is on structuring topics (collecting and organizing ideas), meetings (agenda, MoM, ...) and generating documents from maps. We recently developed an interface (MindManager AddIn) to our Business Process Management System (BPM) to generate and link tasks and workflows directly from maps. MindManager provides appropriate interfaces that allow integration into the company's applications. We have been using MindManager since the early 2000s, sporadically at first, but in the meantime the tool has become established, not least because of its integration into our business applications.
  • Creating Meeting Agendas and MoMs
  • Developing and discussing concepts
  • Structuring and generating documentation
  • ad-hoc collcetion of ideas (for later revision)
  • Visualizing status information
Mindmanager is perfect in (re-)structuring information and visualizing it in a handsome style. However, task management and resource management are hardly suitable for real project management. At this point, we use interfaces to our own tools in our IT landscape. The visualization of planning and status information, fed from external sources, is then again very flexible.

Often described in MindManager questionnaires - use mindmapping since more than 20 years, since 2010 as digital tool. Various uses for investigations, problem solving, documentation, etc. Up to 2020 use MindManager in windows and apple environment, since 2020 concentrated on apple environment only.
  • MindManager has the longest track history. One could rely on a development track including long years requirement. (All is in .....market leader)
  • Basic idea of mindmapping (from 80/90ties) is fully developed and can be executed in MindManager.
  • A lot of additional functionality has been developed over time and is of comfort for the user
MindManager is well suited in a collegial environment, where all members agreed to work "that way". From my experience, MindManager cooperation becomes hard or even inefficient, where persons are involved not being able or not being willing to proactively use MindManager-process. From my experience in wider organizations, a relation of 70/30 is mostly given. 30% are fully engaged in MindManager-processes, 70 % maybe interested up to not being interested or resisting.

I use this program for all of my retreats, seminars, speaking engagements etc. I also use it for brainstorming and long-term planning with certain coaching clients.

It keeps me organized, focused, and expansive. When I do not cover all of my topics I can pick up where I left off from my last engagement. I love being able to create my own templates.

I am able to use it on the Internet, and anywhere I need it.

It is my 'go-to' for all of my outlines etc.

  • Keeps a large amount of information in the notes section.
  • Allows for versatility and customization of my maps.
  • I can be on 2 maps simultaneously.
This program handles all of my needs for Brainstorming and creating maps easily for all of my clients, retreats, seminars, etc.

I love that it is connected to Microsoft and, therefore, simple to do most things connected to it.
