As am example - a large steel multicomponent product - Take the CAD model and generate a Bill of Material in excel format within SOLIDWORKS. Pull that data into MM and then organize as purchased part; flat steel then needs to be cut - laser/plasma/saw; is it then bent? or drilled? or primed?

Each one of these answers is in the form of a TAG, a tag that can be filtered, e.g., filter all 4mm steel plate - MM topic shows dimensions, weight, small 2D drawings including where it belongs in its subassembly. This then gets transmitted via HTML file to design engineers / procurement / other

MindManager (MM) is best suited for unstructured accumulation of information, i.e., pulling articles off the net, pictures, charts, spreadsheets, and docs. Head to head with PowerPoint is tough except for experienced users. (I use it - Walk Through)
