Membership in Oracle User Groups

Yes - I currently subscribe to the Oracle Application User Group (OAUG) for general Oracle information and support questions. I also subscribe to Pipeline Pros. which is a user group specific to Oracle ATG Commerce which our organization also uses for a separate line of products which are less configurable. It helps to lean on these user groups because you often encounter other companies that have had similar, real-world questions and experiences that can't be answered by the support team at Oracle itself.

Membership in Oracle User Groups

Yes - I am a member of the Boston Area Oracle Service Cloud User Group.

Truly an invaluable asset as we made the switch to Oracle a few years back. We have used the group to propose ideas, request feedback on certain issues we were having, and provide our own helpful tips and tricks through their online forum. The group really made the transition a seamless one.

Membership in Oracle User Groups

Not yet, but I'm interested in Oracle user groups - We are not a member of any of the listed user groups, but we are part of an Oracle Commerce Cloud networking group, which has been immensely helpful in finding tips and tricks for implementation, as well as some serious pitfalls that had lasting effects with other organizations. I would definitely recommend finding peers - even if it's not the same use case or reason for implementation - since we discovered more than a few mistakes we would have made and spent a good amount of time and money to fix.

About Oracle CPQ Cloud

Big Machines was one of the best-known vendors in the CPQ space, and was acquired by Oracle in 2013 and integrated into their Customer Experience Cloud. Today the product is called Oracle CPQ Cloud, and works as a connector between a company's CRM and ERP systems. It covers product selection and configuration, pricing and quoting, presentations and proposals, orders and fulfillment, and reporting and analysis.

There are three packages available: Standard (searchable product catalog, configurable products, list and customer-specific pricing, discounting, extensible scripting and data structures, output document integration, CRM integration); Enterprise (Standard plus a native reporting module, batch transaction export to populate data warehouse, sales channel module, eCommerce module); or Premium (Enterprise plus a test environment, multi-source document creation, etc.)
