We needed to get some insights into our customer's user experience on our redesigned website. SessionCam allowed us to see what wasn't working on the site and helped us figure out why as well as what changes we needed to make. Without SessionCam, we would have had to rely just on whatever feedback customers would have been willing to provide.
  • Errors display
  • Showing sequence of user actions
  • Comparing different customer segments.
  • A bit slow to load sometimes
  • UI looks a bit basic
  • Reporting could be deeper
SessionCam works well for helping you figure out what is and isn't working with a small or mid-sized business website. It can give you valuable insights regarding the flow of the user's movements on the site, and where the user might hit a dead end. Its reporting capabilities might not be powerful enough for more complex situations.
  • Heatmaps
  • Error reports
  • Low cost
  • Allowed us to improve our website in-house
  • Relatively low cost solution
  • Customer engagement and sales on website increased
We tried out Hotjar before settling on SessionCam. Since the cost was a major factor for us (we were not a big company), we opted for SessionCam after trialing Hotjar. The features were more than adequate, but in the end, it came down to cost. We were happy with our final decision.
