The UiPath Automation Platform enables users to discover opportunities for process improvement by mining communications taking place throughout the business, and through mapping out how employees work, while mining and monitoring every business conversation. I use UiPath nearly every day! Many of my days wouldn't start without this tool and it has become a daily part of my life. The timesheet filling bot which I've created saves nearly one hour of my time daily that would be spent otherwise to manually generate it.

It is very suitable for processing a large quantity of data at once (generating a list of thousands of products on any website just by selecting a couple of them). Report format needs improvement. It should be more flexible and we should be able to customize it as per our need.

Suitable for working on repetitive tasks that need to take data from somewhere and put it on others, extracting site tables, and sending or extracting email attachments.

UiPath is suitable for automation of emails, extraction of data of sites, extraction of data from PDFs for migration, and extraction of Citrix environments. Not recommended for processes that require many user interactions and are not repetitive.

UiPath is very well suited for automating the monotonous manual task. Also, the UiPath community and the slack channel is very responsive and you get the response quickly. Not to forget the newly introduced UiPath go platform this year, which is a repository of solutions, snippets and custom activities. Scenarios which needs user inputs to complete the task might be a bit difficult with UiPath. Also integrating AI is not in the current capability, but is being introduced in Q3. Thus will have to play around with that to say anything about it.

UiPath is great for automating web processes, from structured data extraction to form filling or the like. This is due to the firepower of the selectors. UiPath has a bit of a problem with Citrix and OCR, because it's not very precise and is very time-consuming.

It is well suited for web-based application automation which involves structured and unstructured data. It provides GitHub integration for maintaining different repositories for different processes, as well as NuGet package integration for managing dependencies. The scope is extended to implement mainframe automation which is quite secure in terms of managing data and bank related operations. It did well with controlled robots in terms of unattended and attended bots by using state machines and orchestrator. We appreciated the ability to trigger different processes by using the orchestrator app. It was found to be less appropriate when we wanted to run a process for fewer times. Since this is a paid tool it does not bring value when implemented for a process that is not recurring, the reason being there are other free open source tools that can do that job which will cost less money.

Since implementation we realize that UiPath has reduced a good part of the costs of our company. We can relocate our employees to more cognitive tasks, leaving the more procedural with the robot, which can perform such tasks in a continuous way and with a low error rate.

UiPath is perfect for carrying out price quotation on the internet with the Data Scrapping tool as it is very simple and easy to use. The simulated click option is very useful. Queues are also very simple to create for use on large scale tasks.

Have a better activities side bar that breaks up the available activity boxes so you are not always searching for things.This software can really increase your operating efficiency, and doest need an expensive IT team to use it. Benefits of the RPA projects really stand out in the results of the company, if you are not using RPA solutions you should start now with UiPath. If you're looking for agility and ease of implementation, and great support and integration with other tools, there's no way you can not choose UiPath instead of other tools on the market. Any guy having who wants to still groom in Programming and RPA can opt this tool as it will never hamper coding skills of any one.

It is best suited for where you have a highly repetitive processes, standard inputs and has high process volumes. It is not suited for the environment where you have many rules and very minimal of a repetitive process. It is also not suited for high Exception Rate process.

UiPath is best suited for processes that are largely manual in nature and can be very time-consuming. My company has focused primarily on processes that are not too complex in nature but this is not necessarily a stipulation. My team uses it to ensure the accuracy of the invoices we send to clients. It is very important that our invoices are accurate and can be very time-consuming to ensure it's correct. There are a lot of PMO activities that can fall into this category. Additionally, we have used UiPath to help with compliance control testing to ensure clients are in compliance with SOX 404 standards.

Quick Automation implementation is possible through UiPath. List of activities are built in, so you can use them to create scenarios or use a ready-made one. Orchestrator is used to manage tasks in a user-friendly way. Having a list of activities like Excel, mail, web, Windows, and Citirix can be implemented with UiPath.

Well Suited - We majorly use UiPath for invoice-automation. We daily deal with 1000s of invoices from different channels and Stock Keeping Units. All the invoices are stored in excel from various sources. Thus we try to automate all the sources of data for us so as to club all the channles to a CSV or Excel file. All the channles have different Excel data thus we have to merge all of them. The process workflow looks like:
Fetching data from various sources/channels > Writing to CSVs > Merging daily CSVs > Getting Insights and analytics

You can use it wherever you want. It's multi-purposeful in nature but as for its cost, you should not use it for deploying small automation effort tasks. Go for unattended robot if you have some task that needs to run 24 hours without any manual intervention.

RPA is best suitable in the cases which are:
  • Highly-repetitive, highly manual, information intensive activity, copying, pasting and validating data between systems, portals, application, etc.
  • Involve rigorous keystrokes and mouse clicks, Hopping between applications.
  • Any mind-numbing office task that kills time and energy.

RPA should not be chosen as a solution in the cases like:
  • Robot effort and human effort are almost the same
  • The process is very dynamic (it changes frequently).
  • It is not suitable for unstructured data handling, stability of the system is low, etc.

The most obvious problems are the 'swivel chair' operations where data from one system needs to be inputted in another. Other uses cases include building Excel tools based on data from systems and transforming data from one format to another (financial).

An interesting case was where our company had contracts with customers. The customers would then make orders based on that contract. However, often there were errors where the order had different data compared to the contract (e.g. different pricing, transportation). Those orders have to be adapted to the contract as soon as possible. A robot currently takes care of that instead of an employee that had to check regularly for wrong orders.

It can be used in IT process automation (ticketing tools, server maintenance), finance automation (OCR tech and invoice processing), desktop applications automation (most of them), web applications automation (ost of them and also JS scripting can be used), Support for APIs, Excel automation. UiPath covers all the fields which other tools fail to cover.
