Overall Satisfaction with UiPath Enterprise RPA Platform

Gone are the days when you have to deploy 100s of people for repeated tasks. We regularly update invoices of different channels and merchants to our workflow. Capturing each invoice requires some human attention. There are chances of using OCR or Text based extraction of invoices. We easily automate each type of invoice extraction to our spreadsheet. This reduces 1 hour (Max 1.5 hr) of 100 employees in our organization.
  • Firstly, Web scraping - Data scraping became so easy after deploying UiPath. It provides various OCR engines to get through Scraping.
  • Secondly, Excel Automation - It seems like UiPath studio is well suited for Excel automation.
  • Thirdly, Remote Controlling - using Orchestrator you can easily invoke remote robots so as to get your work done on remote machine and working on current machine.
  • We have deployed the technology since 6 mos. We are facing a major challenge in front of us. The invoice automation can only be done when the invoices are on website. Usually we fetch invoices from partner websites as PDF. Thus we are doing an extra work in scraping PDF.
  • There is need of Screen Recording facility when performing robot activities. So that it is easy to debug when the robot gets stopped unexpectedly.
  • When writing data to excel there should be an option to write the data one by one to excel file or inside a buffer table. Till now UiPath stores excel/table data first to a temporary table and then writes to excel/csv. There can be a case when you want to write the data directly to excel/csv. In other words, the data should be written real-time.
  • First Positive: Investing in RPA made our freelance workforce free. Thus we can now save cost of freelancers and give perks to our permanent employees.
  • Second Negative: Our employees had to learn the technology which took us 1 month behind as the work force had to learn and train with UiPath academy.
  • Third Positive: After deploying UiPath RPA, we can now also do extra work and keep our system free in mainstream business. Thus increasing efficiency. Once a robot is started on Virtual Machine, the main machine is free and can be used to achieve other business goals.
I have used Selenium web automation earlier for Open Source project development. I have used the Selenium to achieve small web automation tasks such as booking cinema tickets and bus reservations using a command terminal only. This was very successful project our team made in my graduation. Another project we made was integrating twilio api for whastapp automation for e-commerce. That was a price negotiator cahtbot for whatsapp.
Well Suited - We majorly use UiPath for invoice-automation. We daily deal with 1000s of invoices from different channels and Stock Keeping Units. All the invoices are stored in excel from various sources. Thus we try to automate all the sources of data for us so as to club all the channles to a CSV or Excel file. All the channles have different Excel data thus we have to merge all of them. The process workflow looks like:
Fetching data from various sources/channels > Writing to CSVs > Merging daily CSVs > Getting Insights and analytics
