Overall Satisfaction with Adaptive Defense 360 / WatchGuard EPDR

All of our equipment is registered under Adaptive Defense 360 and we also deploy it on our clients. We consider this agent to be lightweight, not disturbing the user yet very powerful, and at the same time it is a great tool for evaluating risk levels around our network. We use it both on workstations and servers and the results so far [have been] really good.
  • Blocking [inappropriate] actions from the user
  • Deploying on any machine
  • Reporting all kinds of events but not saturating us with tons of records, just the necessary stuff
  • Creating exceptions is a bit complex
  • Improve the spam filtering part
  • Maybe the graphical user interface could improve, but it really works well when you get familiar with it
  • Excellent marketing tool, easy to sell and with a positive impact
  • It helped us on clients' fidelization, since we have a central console of their equipment and provide them with all the reports
  • Allowed us to be ahead with issues the client doesn't even know [about] until we tell them
Overall Adaptive Defense 360 is way easier to deploy, to manage and to control. [In our experience] Sophos solutions were extremely tedious and there was little to no help from Sophos Support, and The McAfee platform was a complete disaster from day one. Price could be a bit better but is on range with other similar solutions and there are frequent offers when renewal time comes.

Would you buy Watchguard Endpoint Security again?

Yes

After dealing with Sophos and the McAfee platform, I started using Adaptive Defense 360 and discover[ed] that it is way easier that the others and at the same time is powerful enough. Migrating, installing, creating rules, creating exceptions, etc. is quick and easy. We have discovered that in some cases the fact that the client themselves can access their own platform is a plus; while with Sophos we ended up removing the option for the client to access their own console.
As of today, we have deploy[ed] this solution in multiple clients and we [have] not had any major incidents regarding security so far. We have had many events where Adaptive Defense 360 has detected and blocked a risk but so far none have actually affected us or our clients. I wouldn't say it's all because of Adaptive Defense 360 but it sure helped.
[It is well suited for] small to mid sized companies with employees distributed [throughout] multiple working locations or at home. This tool even helps the support team and allows [them] to [have] interaction with the remote user.

[It is less appropriate for] companies using cloud based solutions with non-server attached computers but independent PC's. In general, business[es] without an IT department or an IT responsible permanently at the office. This tool is meant to be used by people without a technical profile, they need to feel safe and not have to worry about updates, notifications popping up, etc.
