Overall Satisfaction with Adobe Captivate Prime

Captivate Prime is our learning management system. We have implemented the system through about 75% of the organization. Necco did not have an LMS prior to Captivate Prime. We are only using the system for internal purposes at this time. We do not have specific plans to use the system externally.
  • The visual design of the learner's and manager's pages.
  • The ability to customize the course titles provides an attractive catalog.
  • Dashboard graphics.
  • Ability to brand.
  • Difficult to add external training to a learner transcript.
  • Complete learner's transcript is difficult to read and locate.
  • Skill levels and maximum points need to be determined in advance which is difficult and can cause learner/manager confusion when the max. is increased.
  • You can only see learner's status in a course. if the learner is in process, you can't easily see which modules the learner has completed.
  • The Certificates section is designed for internal certificates and is not easily adaptable for tracking required external CEUs to maintain a license like a therapist license.
  • No "Super Admin" role where the Admin and Author roles are combined. You have to move between the two roles on a regular basis which is needless extra clicks.
  • In general, there seems to be more "clicks" than should be necessary to perform a function which is time consuming and makes the system feel cumbersome.
  • There is no bulk registration option. Adding learners one at a time requires several clicks. When you have 130 names it can be very time consuming. Adding through a Learning Program is not always an option.
  • Getting help from the Adobe Support Center should not take 3 or more days. Day 1 - Submit a ticket, Day 2 - Support Center ask for a time they can call you the next day, Day 3 - You speak to a specialist. If the issue involves a learner, then you have to schedule time with that learner too. Very frustrating! Response time should be within a couple of hours and learners should be able to contact the support desk themselves with issues.
  • When in the Admin or Author role, when you click on a course tile I wish it would just take me to the Course View.
  • We have not had enough content and exposure to calculate ROI.
Jeff was always patient and willing to do whatever he could to make Prime work for our needs. One instance he was able to help me was when the person I was working with in the support center stopped responding to my communications. Jeff reached out to his contacts and I learned the individual had been out sick.
I selected Adobe Captivate Prime because it has the most visually appealing look, it seemed to meet all our needs and offered the ability for growth into the social learning realm.
This system is best for organizations with established catalogs, curricula and currently have an LMS and are looking for a more visually appealing model. It is not well suited for companies that are just starting with an LMS or have regulatory tracking needs with frequent auditors.
