Overall Satisfaction with Adobe Captivate Prime

We are using Adobe Captivate Prime to provide training to our external partners who need training. Specifically, we use it as a platform that our sellers can logon to and learn about our products and how to talk to our customers about them. Initially we were using Salesforce to do trainings for external, but it did not have the capabilities and functionality that a full-LMS, such as Adobe Captivate Prime, had to offer. We have a separate learning management platform for internal training.

Pros

  • The user interface is simple and easy to use compared to other systems.
  • It produces dashboards with data that can be viewed across offering in the system.
  • The way it groups translations together for different languages is helpful for searchability and manageability.

Cons

  • Some of the reporting features are limited. Like being able to pull completely custom reports and have more fields available.
  • Some of the predefined roles don't provide as much flexibility as needed for reports, forcing more admin-access than necessary.
  • More customization on the user's home page would be a bonus.
  • We can spend less time dealing with issues that come up with a custom solution to training.
  • Course uploads work well and are generally compatible with this platform.
  • Hard to show differentiation between sub-groups within our organization with the lack of customization in the platform.
N/A - I haven't directly communicated with the Customer Success Manager. Second hand, I know that they have been willing to make accommodations for our organization - including looking at the functionality of various things to make sure it meets our needs.
I was not involved in the purchase decision, only in testing and implementation.
I think the tool is well equipped to serve external partners because of its simple UI design. Those types of needs make using the tool less cumbersome for people who may not have direct access to LMS staff for helping. For organizations that want complex reporting and analytics, there are other LMS tools that offer much more data. However, the built in dashboards are a good start for those looking for simple reporting. Also, without built in assessment tools, Captivate Prime leans heavy on organizations that have course developers to upload custom modules.
