Overall Satisfaction with AlphaSense

We use AlphaSense to understand multiple perspectives on the outlook of the segments in which we operate. Between the analyst reports and the transcripts, we are able to get a great view of our markets. I particularly use the "nested" search capabilities to dig into specific areas of interest.
  • Transcripts
  • Analyst reports
  • Sentiment analysis
  • Search capabilities
  • Financial detail is lacking
  • Better insights to guide decision making
  • Saves time with the search capabilities
  • More data points to build confidence
I've used both Cap IQ and Thomson One/Refinitive. They each have their strengths, but I found myself simply downloading financials from those services and wishing they had better analyst coverage and market intelligence capabilities. However, I have found that with AlphaSense and am very happy with it compared to the other platforms I've used. I've also used various website monitoring tools and news aggregators. I find that they provide too much information that is mostly useless. With AlphaSense, I am able to see what is important to me quickly.
I particularly enjoy the ability to customize dashboards (landing pages) so I am quickly able to see multiple companies, press releases, analyst reports, articles, and other market intel that is relevant to me.
AlphaSense gives me market intelligence far better than the other tools. As a strategist, I need analyst reports, press releases, earnings transcripts, transcripts from corporate events (non-earnings), and materials shared in those events. AlphaSense is perfect for market, customer, and competitor insights. The other products (Cap IQ and Refinitive) are far better suited for speeding up large-scale financial analytics with Excel integration. While they have some transcripts and analyst reports, it's clear that the market intel component of those products is a secondary function behind the financial data compilation. If you need financial analytics, those tools are great. If you need market intel, AlphaSense is far better.

Are you happy with AlphaSense's feature set?

Yes

Did AlphaSense live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of AlphaSense go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy AlphaSense again?

Yes

AlphaSense is the best tool for strategists who need to understand markets, customers, and competitors. In my opinion, it is not the best product for deep financial analysis, as there are better tools for financial analysis. However, there is no better tool (that I've found) for strategic research.
