Overall Satisfaction with AlphaSense
I use it to conduct both quantitative and qualitative secondary research on companies and markets. The search tool makes finding specific information and data MUCH easier and faster than through any other source.
- Search capabilities.
- Breadth of research sources.
- Expert interview transcripts.
- Downloadable data tables.
- Standardized view of specific data (segment-level financials over time, ownership breakdown, etc.).
- Cost savings (fewer expert interviews).
- Productivity gains (faster data gathering).
- Ability to answer specific questions (e.g., finding a blurb from an old earnings transcript).
I've found it much easier to stay up-to-date on a specific company or market, either by using alerts or just using the platform to see what's new in a particular topic.

AlphaSense is much better at searching qualitative information (e.g., analyst reports); CapIQ is still better for getting historical financial data.
