Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use AlphaSense to read sell side reports and analysis about industry trends and specific companies. I extract graphs from these reports and challenge my own personal analysis against theirs. I also use a lot of their sorting features to find the most relevant information in the most efficient way.

Usability

It is very easy to use the fundamental search and keyword filters. They are self explanatory and work as expected. Some of the more advanced features I learned from the AlphaSense representatives visiting the office and giving tutorials. These features really helped me and increased the quality of research I was finding.

I can read multiple perspectives from research leaders in every field. I am able to challenge and verify my own analysis against these perspectives and integrate multiple perspectives into a singular piece of research that I'm delivering.

AlphaSense is a lot easier to use and I see it as a single purpose product whereas FactSet I'm more using to pull data

I use AlphaSense so much. Even though it's not perfect, the ability to find so much analysis all on one site makes it such an important tool in my day to day work. It's most appropriate when prepping for a new company or industry report --- or even just to get a background on what other firms are talking about.
