Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We are using Apache Tomcat to deploy our web application; it's a robust servlet container which performs really well in production.

Pros and Cons

Embedded Tomcat works like a charm for spring-boot apps
It has all that's needed to deploy apps in prod
The configuration is quite simple to implement and there is tons of documentation available on the internet

Ability to manage Tomcat using a web console
Support for JEE would be appreciated

Return on Investment

It's free which is awesome
There are tons of resources available on the internet when some config needs to be done
Large community supporting the product which makes it easier to find solutions to common problems

Alternatives Considered

I like it because it is lightweight in comparison to JEE containers
Easy to learn and use
It does not require too much knowledge to start using it

Other Software Used

IntelliJ IDEA, IntelliJ WebStorm, Visual Studio IDE

Likelihood to Recommend

It's really good if you want to deploy web Java applications where only a servlet container is needed. However, it is not well suited to deploy JEE applications.
