Cost Saving Technology that works

We use IT Planning for Budgeting and Forecasting. We are in our first year of Showback for BOIT. This involves resources allocation review, AWS cost allocation, and application and other expense allocation to BOIT. We look at Vendor Spend, Contracts, Asset planning, and headcount planning.

We use Budgeting/Forecasting every month to review spend vs. budget and to forecast for the remaining of the year. We have added numerous custom metrics and models to show muli-plan comparisons for spend, application, assets, contracts, and labor. This has provided us with great insight for capital, headcount, and project planning. We now maintain a full list of IT Contracts and contracted spend. We utilize the modeling in ApptioOne to allocate all of these cost types through Applications and BOIT Services. We use Vendor Insights to help with our Contract renewals. We use Benchmarking to present our comparison with the industry. This has prompted discussions around grow/transform spend.
