Overall Satisfaction with Apricot

WRAP uses Apricot across the entire agency. Its cloud based system is accessible to advocates in the headquarter's county and the 18 other counties in the service area.
  • Apricot is very customizable, both for data entry forms and reports
  • Apricot support is very helpful and accessible through chat
  • Apricot is a secure cloud based system and is accessible wherever there is internet access
  • Apricot has complex and limited capability to prevent duplication of clients in reports
  • Apricot has no basic capability for trend analysis across periods of time
  • Apricot has no basic capability to easily group data by range such as ages by certain ranges (0-12, 13-17, 18-24, etc)
  • In Apricot, creating forms that support reports that meet the complex requirements of Federal and State governments requires advanced technical knowledge of both the reporting requirements and the internal logic of Apricot function
  • Positive: Because we have a complex organization and have staff with dual technical expertise, we are able to fully customize and collect all necessary data and compile it in comprehensive reports that: 1) allow us to easily and quickly provide information required by state and Federal governments 2) easily justify new federal, state, and local grants 3) easily support current grants with justification
  • Positive: Because of Apricot, we are able to provide seamless services without interruption or delay across 19 counties that is encompasses 1/3 the state of Tennessee
  • Negative: Form and report design take significant amount of time away from service provision by the staff who have dual technical expertise
We extensively used Alice, and then evaluated a number of software products before purchasing Apricot. We chose Apricot over all others for the following reasons:
  • Comprehensive design
  • Design flexibility of forms and reports
  • Secure Cloud based
  • Ease of use for most staff
I recommend Apricot all the time because it's the most capable software I have found to date.

Well Suited:
  • Organizations that are simple in structure and requirements (a program that provides all services through a shelter or a program that only provides outreach and no shelter, especially with a single funder)
  • Organizations that have staff members who have technical expertise in both victim services reporting AND database design
Not well suited
  • Organizations that are complex without staff who have dual technical expertise
