Overall Satisfaction with Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT
We utilize Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT as our primary accounting software. We use the payables module for processing and paying invoices. We are moving toward utilizing the expense management module. We utilize the GL module for preparing our financial statements. We are reconciling our bank statement within the treasury portion of the application.

- Bank Reconciliation
- Payment of bank drafts in NXT differs from FE 7. In FE 7 the bank drafts are recorded on the due date. In NXT, the drafts are recorded on the day the process is run which can cause some issues when reconciling.
- The print buttons don't work. You have to save as a pdf and then print.
- Important reports are not available on the NXT dashboard, such as budget vs actual financial statements
- Very easy process for paying bills with EFT
- Cost of the software is getting very expensive
- Expense management will be very helpful
We utilize RE for donor relations.
The reporting can be a bit cumbersome. Hopefully income statements can be added to the dashboard in the near future and that will be extremely helpful.
I've only had limited experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP. I have primarily been utilizing FE for much of the last 10 years.
