Use Cases and Deployment Scope

With a distributed workforce collaborative meetings are frequently difficult to do with just a telephone call. Our staff and faculty use BlueJeans to regularly meet with coworkers and students around the world. Each employee is provided access through their AD rights. My personal use is with staff in several locations, rather than disrupting a workday with travel between sites we frequently (sometimes) several times per day, meet via BlueJeans video calls.

Pros and Cons

Collaboration platform.
Video conferencing both local and international.

More how-to guides would be nice.
Although pretty intuitive we had users that could not get the hang of the product, more on-screen instructions would be beneficial.

Return on Investment

Decreased travel for remote employees.
Increase in productivity resulting from employees being able to stay at their desk.

Video conference calls allow for better communications due to being able to observe non-verbal signs. Additionally providing file transfer and being able to display documents, and presentations allow for great interaction and knowledge share. Training is always better accomplished when you can show your student, this is not always possible if the student is not local. Not appropriate when a simple phone call will allow for the required information to be passed or if an email will be sufficient. Somewhat difficult to capture transcript for printing.
