Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Nexus Series Switches

We use them as infrastructure to provide service to our customers. We use them in Layer 2 and Layer 3 capabilities. Some issues we had is the small amount of capabilities they have regarding private vlans and vxlans, because it seems that there is a small amount of this combination allowed to "work as expected". On the other hand, we're happy with the performance.
  • Routing
  • Switching
  • Configuration mode
  • More capabilities with private vlans and vxlans combination
  • Decrease the outage when configuring a vxlan into an existing vlan
  • We've improved our performance and scalability due those devices
  • We're happy about nexus OS and their usability

Do you think Cisco Nexus Series Switches delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Did Cisco Nexus Series Switches live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Cisco Nexus Series Switches go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Cisco Nexus Series Switches again?

Yes

Is well suited to have them as the basis of your infrastructure, to have a fabric configuration, to deploy core and spine topology. They have nice look and field in order to being configurated, and also are powerful and robust regarding traffic capabilities and managing resources. Private vlans together with high amount of vxlans is not a valid scenario.
