Overall Satisfaction with Oracle Eloqua

Eloqua is being used to manage online/email campaigns throughout Brand Communication here at Kaiser Permanente. We are as a group, still getting acclimated to the suite, but it's extremely helpful already in being able to capture metrics around deliverables and initiatives pushed out through Eloqua. Questions about impact and ROI that previously could not have been answered, or would have taken a great deal of time and effort to answer, are now simple to respond to, with Eloqua detailed reporting functionality.
  • Being able to save and reopen the whole campaign, rather than just emails sent.
  • Being able to track who has engaged with the messaging sent, and more importantly who hasn't, to target follow ups.
  • Self-contained ecosystem allows more than one actor to work on the campaigns, essentially in real time, and even remotely, if needed.
  • User interface is not as intuitive as some software suites I've seen.
  • The fact that there is a whole community to help learn Eloqua, and even an Eloqua University, speaks to the complexity of the solution, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it can make it hard to onboard as a user.
  • Eloqua has redefined what is possible for us as a department. The ability to track campaigns has been a welcome addition.
  • The ease of use of html files in sending out campaigns has taken much of the headache out of formatting emails.
Anytime you need to see results of your campaign or message being sent out, which for our department is pretty much everything. Too bad it doesn't cover our print mailings!

Using Oracle Eloqua

There's a huge learning curve, which I talked about under the "hard to use" elements; however, even with at my novice level of capability, it's a powerful tool for me and our whole department. As I and others in the department become power users, I think we'll appreciate even more some of the more sophisticated functionality available to us in Eloqua, and be even less likely to want to defect to some other solution.
