Overall Satisfaction with Google Hangouts Meet
We use Meet across the organization as our go-to resource for remote meetings. Now that we are all remote, we rely on Meet to replace what would otherwise be in-person face time. The entire organization uses it, but some team still rely on free Zoom accounts for external meetings. Meet allows us to easily stay connected without having to add operational expenses.
Pros
- There is lots of customization to the platform through add-ons.
- It is convenient and easy to integrate since we utilize G Suite.
- It's hard to beat a system that is entirely free!
Cons
- Meet as it comes doesn't have a great way to handle large meetings.
- I don't like the way they hide the mute button. It's a disruptive view to mute/unmute.
- Chat box is the only way to document collaborations within the meeting.
- Using Meet has allowed us to cut down on operational costs since it's a free video conference software.
- Meet has allowed our team to stay connected during the global pandemic.
- Zoom
I prefer Zoom over Meet, but we are currently using Meet to cut down on operational costs. By installing add-ons, we have gotten Meet to a place that comes close to providing the same level of functionality that we became accustomed to in Zoom. We continue to use Zoom for large company meetings, as Meet is not the best solution for meetings with 10+ people.
