Overall Satisfaction with Gumlet
We use Gumlet to embed videos on our website to provide users a non-buffering experience. Video is important way we communicate information about our products, so it's important the resolution be high quality and the playback is seamless. That is what Gumlet does and provides a more customized experience than using something like YouTube or something more cost prohibitive like Vimeo.
- Converting videos into multiple formats and storing in a worldwide CDN
- Customizing the player to include colors and branding on a per brand/collection basis
- Making it easy to share and embed on the website
- Reporting and analytics on views and engagement
- DRM protection
- The user interface/user experience can improve. Lots of features, spread across multiple areas, with terminology that takes time to learn
- More customization options to their channel pages
- More ways to automate video uploading via API
- No buffering on playback
- customization of the player
- embedding on our websites
- We replaced an existing product with Gumlet, there was no financial impact, but I think we feel more comfortable that Gumlet will be around for a longer time as an established vendor than our prior vendor.
Gumlet is by far a better experience than Vimeo. Cost is better and all the features are there. Vimeo is easier to use, a better interface, but in terms of the output, I like Gumlet better. With Gumlet we are able to automatically create videos from 240p up to 4k and the player determines the best playback rate for the end users based on their bandwidth.
