Overall Satisfaction with Gumlet

We use Gumlet to protect our educator's content from theft, and to offload the bandwidth from our servers. All the features that Hollywood uses to protect their content available for the everyday small scale user - CDN is great, but Gumlet goes above and beyond to protect content from theft, in an era where resellers make a quick buck off someone elses's effort. It's still possible to download videos from the big name video hosts, but I haven't found a way how to 'hack' a way to do that with Gumlet. Not to mention the DRM protection.
  • The dynamic watermark is excellent in case people are that dedicated to stealing content, the watermark protects videos from being recorded by embedding the name or ID associated with the account viewing/recording the video to know who's releasing the content into the public.
  • Total video and player branding - it's not account-wide, but collection or even video specific (as far as I could tell) - so it's easy to clients with their own collection without having to create a new account everytime
  • In general, the features for the price is great. Gumlet provides far more functions than the big name video hosts.
  • There's no auto-offloading content from Wordpress/Learndash into Gumlet. Means everything has to be uploaded into Gumlet then embedded. No big deal, it's the same thing you'd do with Wistia.
  • CDN - offload bandwidth from our servers
  • Dynamic Watermark - trace the source of content leaks
  • DRM - protect content from playing on unauthorized devices
  • Gumlet was the last piece that we needed to be able to compete with larger platforms and convince people that we provide everything and more our more established competitors offer.
Some of our clients use Vimeo Livestream and find it overly complicated. Gumlet hasn't released it yet, but considering how easy it is to use their other services, I trust it will be just as easy to live stream - with the bonus of the content protection.

Vimeo is overpriced for what they offer, and charge for DRM as an additional add-on on top of their industry-grade CDN.

Wistia doesn't have download protection. Way too easy to download and resell content.

Gumlet is perfect for content creators who want control of their content. We all know how easy it is to have an entire YouTube channel disappear overnight - make a backup with Gumlet and let people watch on your own site or behind a paywall, without the intrusive Google ads. Especially great for educators and course creators who don't want to rely on Teachable/Thinkific and Wistia/Vimeo (where it's still easy to download videos from). As a former producer in entertainment, I can honestly say Gumlet is a game-changer. Individuals can become their own Netflix, with true industry-grade protection from theft. It's totally underrated, but as other platforms have failed us, it's so valuable to become in control of your content. For the price, I can honestly say Gumlet is a no brainer. The dashboard is clean, the documentation is thorough. It's developer friendly, just as it is user-friendly for non-techies.
