Overall Satisfaction with IBM FlashSystem
[IBM FlashSystem 7200 (formerly Storwize V7000)] is our current storage system for the entire company. It provides the disk space that our applications and users need. We have been using it more than 3 years and increased the capacity as needed without any issues. It gives a solid performance which helps you feel confident for the business continuity
- Good performance
- Ease of management and automated reporting features
- Security and policy usage
- Maintenance is not cheap
- Implementation could be difficult
- Comes in block
- V7000 has a good ROI.
- Scaling could be expensive with a change need in hardware
- Maintenance agreements, although costly, gives you good quality of service by IBM
We also used EMC for some side requirements. However during the overall company decision, IBM was better in initial investment cost.

1 - We provide the basic level 1 support in-house. That means we are notified about issues , check the notifications and status messages from V7000 and search details in the command console. If something that we cannot solve or any hardware to be replaced, a ticket is sent to the IBM support to take care.
