Overall Satisfaction with Oracle Dyn Managed DNS

We use Traffic Director to do our regional based load balancing.
  • Easy to use interface for traffic director
  • Fantastic uptime
  • Flexibility in shaping failover rules
  • Website design is not intuitive
  • More flexibility on health check endpoints
  • Responsiveness of website
  • We moved from latency based load balancing to regional load balancing using traffic director and it's been a very good solution for our company
  • We had some negative impact due to our understanding of now the regional probes worked to determine heath of a given region
  • Dyn has been a stable provider for our business for many years.
Dyn has been or provider for many years but as we shift our business into AWS route 53 has become a contender for our DNS solution.
We have had to open very few tickets but when we have had to the response has been adequate
We haven't explored many other options but the ones we have looked at seem on par.
It fits the bill for load balancing and DNS management. I'm not sure if it would be the best solution if you wanted to add custom code to assist in the routing of traffic.
