Overall Satisfaction with Oracle VM VirtualBox
VirtualBox is the tool we use to generate virtual machines in development environments. Either as much as to run Windows or Linux from Mac OS, or Windows from Linux. We have the need to have computers with the possibility of running these operating systems since the programs that we use for the industry are not all multiplatform.
- Easy set up
- Supports multiple operating systems
- Free software
- Nice interface
- A lot of control over the configuration of the virtual machine
- Coherence mode (like in Parallels)
- Ability to use non-native programs for my computer's host OS.
- Saving time by changing the operating system (restarting the computer).
- Ease of exchanging files between operating systems
- Financial savings in acquiring new computers.
While Parallels Desktop has always positioned itself better than VirtualBox, it will never be able to compete against free and open-source software. Yes, it is true that it has some extra seasonings that can make the scale move towards Parallels at the time of the election, VirtualBox will always be at hand and will be a useful tool in terms of the virtualization of devices and operating systems.
