Overall Satisfaction with SAP Cloud Platform

We use SAP Integration Suite for supply chain organization and mainly for letting partners to consume OData Services. This is used for order placing and checking inventory list. We are using S/4HANA on the backend and all this is hosted over AWS cloud. We are using API Portal to host APIs.
  • Seamless connection once set up.
  • Enhancements are easy to deploy.
  • Good performance.
  • Cloud connectivity is sometimes an issue.
  • Principal propagation is little tricky.
  • High volume flows are still to be deployed.
  • It's good if we have really a big landscape, for small scale I think it's costly.
  • It's relatively costly.
  • We do have a good support from SAP.
I have been using SAP XI/PI/PO for over 10 years. Hence moving to SAP Integration Suite was not a big change. However, it helps to avoid maintenance, and upgrades are easy. From an integration perspective, it does have a rich flavor to use APIs and standard proxies.
I am yet to experience machine learning and analytics capabilities. All I have used is to configure interfaces and use it as a platform to host APIs.
We selected SAP just because we have everything in SAP and we did have a good sales team from SAP to convince us to use it. No doubt it's good.
I have been using SAP all my life so it's hard to compare any new product with this but for sure there are many new products in the market to compete. AWS API Gateway is one of them. We do have a few more like Apigee and MULESOFT but overall I am a happy user with SAP.
