Overall Satisfaction with TIBCO Spotfire
I am using it in a Petroleum asset development class in the Petroleum Engineering department at Texas A&M University. So far, I have really appreciated how I can use Spotfire to wrangle and evaluate large amounts of data. My team is just in the beginning phase of applying it, but I have used it in the past at other companies and it has been crucial to my work.
- Handles large data sets.
- Creates great visualizations.
- Combines multiple data sets and helps me compare them.
- Navigating the coding is a bit challenging.
- Editing data sets in Spotfire would be nice. You can only look at data you input into the program.
- Exporting visualizations to powerpoint only lets you make a whole slide. Making a well scaled image would be awesome.
- Helps save a lot of time on analysis.
- Helps gather data into one place for evaluation. Again, big time saver.
- In-person training
HUGE. Having in-person training helped me to see a lot of features in Spotfire that I otherwise would have neglected. There are so many features to Spotfire that it is hard to know all of them without having them shown to you. Having good training really set me up for success. Without training, I think I would only use this program for basic visualization creation.
I have not used this with other Spotfire products.
