Ubiquiti Wireless - the great wireless solution
Overall Satisfaction with Ubiquiti Wireless WAN
In our company, we have been using Ubiquiti Wireless WAN for over 4 years. In the past, we used equipment for wireless networks that did not have stability and was not easy to manage. After researching the market, I discovered Ubiquiti's solution. We use the solution in our company to serve the entire wireless network, whether in the administrative part, as in the industrial part with differentiated SSIDs and isolated from the main network, with this solution it was possible to be connected either in the administrative building or inside the factory in a simple and safe.
Pros
- Creation of distinct and isolated SSID's by VLAN.
- Automatic connection to the nearest Ubiquiti device.
- Easy management of connected clients per device.
Cons
- More detailed logs of devices, connection date and time.
- Device support time in the latest unifi controller versions (increase).
- Search for a connected device by your MAC.
- High availability of SSID's distributed by several Wi-Fi points
- Centralized management of networks and device settings with the controller
- SSID's with different VLANs, restrict the distribution of SSID's by device groups
- Stability in the company's wireless connections.
- Reduced time required to configure and manage Wi-Fi devices.
- Centralization of different SSID's distributed by the same wi-fi device in an isolated and secure way.
In the past, we used D-Link wi-fi devices, where centralized management was not possible, distributing the same SSID through several devices. Which cost configuration time and instability in the use between one point and another, because eventually, this transition between a device and another by a client was not transparent and functional as it is today with the Ubiquiti solution.
