Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Data Platform

We needed a high quality backup tool to back up a handful of traditional physical servers we had system-wide. After researching, Veeam Data Platform seemed to be the best choice. Since then we have also used Veeam Data Platform to back up systems that needed application-aware backup like AD, plus one VM that needed a user-friendly GUI for restores.
  • Virtualized workloads
  • Endpoints and physical servers running Windows & Linux
  • In addition to back up, we also replicate some of these workloads
  • Application-centric recovery using Veeam Explorers (for Exchange, SQL, Sharepoint, etc)
  • Application-centric recovery using Veeam Explorers (for Exchange, SQL, Sharepoint, etc)
  • Intuitive backup interface
  • User-friendly restore procedures
  • Very nice enterprise level URL to connect to each system
  • Need granular permissions within a Veeam B&R instance
  • More flexible backup scheduling capabilities

Would you buy Veeam Data Platform again?

Yes

We are backing up 6 physical and 2 virtual servers with Veeam Data Platform. We started with 1 physical server five years ago and have expanded from there.
  • It provides a very high quality backup for a handful of physical Windows servers
  • It allows our domain admins to restore discrete AD objects
  • It provides a user-friendly GUI for users to restore data, reducing help desk calls
Our previous backup solution was very difficult to implement when we had a mass number of restores we needed to complete. I led a search for a better quality product and we landed on Veeam Data Platform.
Keeping in mind we use Veeam Data Platform primarily for backing up physical Windows servers, it works great the vast majority of the time. It "just works" and users never have issues with performing restores. In my experience, when problems do occur they can be time consuming to resolve, but the overall experience has been very positive.
