Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Data Platform
Veeam is used to backup our critical production line workstations and both physical and virtual servers. We utilize the application aware processing for multiple Microsoft SQL databases that affords us granular restore ability for row and table data in 5 minute increments. This is vital for us as our production lines are high speed and a disruption that necessitates a restore from hours in the past is not acceptable.

- We have successfully restored table data within Microsoft SQL multiple times. The restores are extremely fast, and our entry-level systems administrators are able to action the requests.
- Veeam application updates and upgrades are very east to apply.
- Backups are efficient and fast, which has lowered our backup time windows.
- The storage tiering can be confusing to setup and maintain. The settings windows for this have not changed in years and seem outdated. An overhaul of the interface would be welcome.

We have 18 virtual and 26 physical workloads protected by Veeam. This was the expected load as we had anticipated growth of our physical workloads. We purchased all required licenses at the time of Veeam purchases, and within 40 days all existing workloads were protected.
- Veeam has allowed us to revise our business continuity and disaster recovery plans with more favorable Recovery Time Objectives and Recovery Point Objectives. It has also allowed us to streamline our Standard Operating Procedures. This has afforded us better positions with current and potential clients.
We experienced a data loss event in which our existing backup appliance failed to recover from due to an application issue. This caused significant downtime for our company, and had a direct loss of revenue. The prior backup solution was a "black box" that was vendor managed, more expensive than Veeam, and had less features.
