Overall Satisfaction with Vertex
O Series is being used throughout our U.S. and Canada companies to calculate sales tax on our customers orders. By using this it has helped us calculate the proper tax rates. Without O Series, we were just calculating a single tax rate for each state we were registered in, using our ERP system.
- O Series calculates the sales tax rates down to all the local levels. Updates are provided monthly and occasionally more often. We know we are charging our customers the correct tax.
- Provides testing tools to make sure you have your customers set up properly and that the tax is calculating correctly.
- Allows us to set up tax assist rules that are specific to our business.
- Would like to see some additional fields added to reports showing more of the information like customer addresses and not just city & state. I would like to use these reports for tax audits. Currently reports don't show enough information to give to auditors. I have to run separate reports out of our ERP system.
- Using O Series has allowed us to register our four companies in additional states that we didn't have the capabilities to file sales tax returns in before. As the only one in our company that handles sales & use tax compliance, it has allowed me to be able to file an additional 20 states per company with ease. Being able to calculate the proper tax rates has help when it comes to sales tax audits, where before we were only using a single rate and getting hit in the audits for the additional tax.

Vertex was willing and able to work with our very old ERP system, where as the other vendors we talked with weren't as confident that they could. I also had used Vertex at a prior company and loved using it.
When we were in the process of implementing, the Vertex team was great to work with. They were able to handle all the special issues we had specific to our business.
