Kudos for WorkFront
Overall Satisfaction with Workfront
WorkFront is used at Blackbaud, Inc., by the marketing communications and creative team which is part of the corporate marketing department. Our team is an internal advertising agency for the company. We use it to accept and manage all of the requests we get for marketing campaigns, from start to finish. We have more than 20 people using WorkFront daily. In fact, we rely on it so much, many of us keep the program open on our computers all day.
Pros
- WorkFront helps our team of 20+ creative people manage literally hundreds of projects a year, all in one place. Each of those projects has many sub-projects and tasks. The system automates our workflows so that we stay on deadline and don't let anything fall through the cracks.
- The system is very user friendly and intuitive. In fact, when we have new associates join the team, they ramp up very quickly, usually within days (not weeks).
- We can use the analytics within the system to prove our worth to the company and to our internal clients. We are able to report on the progress of any in-flight project with ease, and we can report on hours spent for each project.
Cons
- Our creative team likes to do things "behind the curtain," so we've set the system up so that our clients see a different view of WorkFront than our team does. This sometimes makes it confusing for our clients who want to use the system to keep track of progress on their projects. It would be nice to be able to give them a view that shows them where things stand, without giving them the nitty gritty details.
- WorkFront has improved our organization's ability to manage workflows.
- WorkFront has had a positive impact on productivity.
- Internal team collaboration has improved.
Prior to using WorkFront, we used a variety of methods to manage our projects, ranging from manual spreadsheets to a competitor product called AtTask. Manual spreadsheets were cumbersome and time-consuming. AtTask was not user friendly; our associates were
frustrated and our leadership could not report on project progress or employee productivity.
