Likelihood to Recommend [Applied] Epic is great for holding information but it does take time to enter data correctly if you want to be able to complete reports accurately[.]
Read full review prospects easy to find; however not all current information is listed. The process for importing prospect lists into the agency management system could be streamlined.
Read full review Pros Account Management - I like the way the system organizes the data for each account. It is easy to search and find any client we are looking for and then once within that record, it is easy to navigate to the necessary policy or screen. Task Management - once everyone was trained and on the same page, the ability to move tasks within the system from one person to the next really helps with the "passing the baton" from one team member to another. The task will come right up on the initial screen so the user knows they have something new to do. Reporting - the system drives the majority of the reporting we do as an agency and it is great when working within the system. Read full review It's very flexible. You can add custom fields easily and create/update workflows and activities quickly. The layout is easy on the eye. The dashboard is laid out well and helps you stay on track with renewals and activities. Emails attached to an activity are easily viewed and housed within the activity on a separate tab. Adding and reviewing policy info is simple. The tabs make it helpful to find and view info quickly. Read full review Cons Some of the questions in the applications are repetitive. The manual is not especially user-friendly - our agency is working on a new one for easier navigation. Better integration with our other software programs would be beneficial to our agency. Read full review Training for new employees and follow up for all employees. Importing into agency management system is several steps. Not all information on prospects is given, although most have adequate information. Read full review Support Rating I have not necessarily used support from Applied Epic directly, but have gone to my trainer who has gone to support. I am usually able to get an answer relatively quickly, so I can assume the support team is very knowledgeable and prompt with their help.
Read full review The Zywave Customer Support team is phenomenal! Never any complaints. They resolve things quickly. You can call and talk with a real person, submit a chat question, or email them. Their training videos are good—short and sweet. We still use multiple Zywave products in our Benefits, Commercial Lines, and Marketing departments. They are a great company to work with. The implementation/onboarding for all products has been amazing! Training for products has always surpassed the training we received from other vendor partners.
Read full review Alternatives Considered I think it's much easier to use applied epic then TAM. More user-friendly and more intuitive. I feel Applied Epic is a much more productive solution.
Read full review We moved from BrokerageBuilder (BKB) to
Epic in June 2019.
Epic pros over BKB: You can use
Epic for CL, PL, Bonds, and Benefits—one system for your whole agency has a lot of advantages. In
Epic , you can drag and drop emails and documents to clients, policies, and activities.
Epic has an auto-save feature. Reporting in
Epic is better.
Epic cons compared to BKB: The design aesthetic of
Epic is not as nice as BKB. Navigating
Epic is clunky—everything is in multiple layers.
Epic is less flexible for custom fields.
Epic is designed for CL/PL, so it's not ideal for a Benefits user, although they are improving/investing in the benefits side. BKB is just better for a Benefits user.
