We did not compare the Cisco 4000 Series Integrated Services Routers to other competitors as we used Cisco for a long period of time already. We selected this product as we used a lot of CISCO products in the past and with good support. Other products don't have the protocols …
I selected Cisco SD-WAN after compering to 4 other manufacturers. I have no relation between ACI and SD-WAN . They are completley different in behavior and configuration

We are strictly a Cisco shop. Since our entire phone system is Cisco-based, it only makes sense that we have a Cisco router as our voice gateway. Not only that, but Cisco products just seem to be very reliable, and if you do have any issues at all Cisco technical support is just a phone call away.
It is a flexible tool for managing and optimizing WAN connections, but it does require some technical expertise to manage. It excels in its ability to integrate multiple WANs. It will however be a not-so-useful purchase if your company has few locations as it will be more expensive and complex for nothing.
It does appear to be a little glitchy when you go from template mode to CLI mode and try to do testing on certain areas. The configuration tends to get hung in that old session when you drop it from being controlled by the controller to making changes in CLI. I've had a lot of instances where you try to put it back into controller mode for review management and it holds on to your items you've had in CLI mode , it gets a little confused at which config it needs to use. You end up having to reset the whole number environment.
Cisco Integrated Services 4000 series routers are very easy to use and manage. With the use of integrated management controllers, you can deploy new sites within minutes
There is always room for improvement with support, but Cisco support has been good to me over the years. Being able to call or submit online TAC cases makes it so I can get my issues or questions answered faster. They have even added the TAC bot for TAC cases to get to support even faster!
Since the Cisco SD-WAN tools are a part of Cisco’s broader portfolio of solutions, support cross-cuts to each of our deployed components, with our company as the customer having the ability to solve our problems through the same, approved infrastructure. Their support team easily satisfies the customer’s needs so that they continue to focus on business functions.
If you planning on upgrading your network to software defined networks, Cisco 4000 Series Integrated Services Routers are the best. To successfully implement the project you need to plan and communicate with all your stake holders
We did not compare the Cisco 4000 Series Integrated Services Routers to other competitors as we used Cisco for a long period of time already. We selected this product as we used a lot of CISCO products in the past and with good support. Other products don't have the protocols that CISCO products have.
So I've used Versa and I've used Silver Peak. And to be honest I originally started off loving Versa more than Cisco, as far as the SD-WAN, just because it seemed like they were more developed. Of course they were focused solely on SD-WAN, so I think they were developed a lot quicker. But Cisco has caught up, between their iteration and with the Meraki iteration of SD-WAN.
We have had several times where we purchased assets and needed to add a remote site quickly for new staff to work. This is very quick to spin up and provides agility to business demands
Allows for agility to failover network access when primary Internet services fail. We have near 100% uptime due to the ISR configuration we use. Even in the most remote locations.
Since we adopted Cisco 4000 Series Integrated Services Routers (ISR 4000) as our de facto WAN hardware, we have cookie-cuttered our WAN infrastructure, which makes it easy to manage, upgrade, and alter with minimal impact to users and IT.
It's definitely decreased the amount that we spend on really expensive circuits every year. We're moving to cheaper broadband circuits with much higher throughput, being able to leverage those and still get the performance that we want, the quality of service that we want.
